About this property

2,500 sqft Log Lodge — a retreat between Denali and Fairbanks

The Rustic Aurora Lodge is conveniently located in Nenana, between Fairbanks and Denali. Nenana is a very quaint town with lots of nature, scenic walks, cafes, and a General Store. Nenana is also known for its rich history of being a historic Alaska Railroad town, Alaska native Athabaskan village and dog mushing town where the serum run began. In the winters, you can catch a ride with a local musher, view Denali on clear days, or view the Aurora when it’s out and dancing! The lookout on the lodge property is where President Harding came to drive the Golden Spike at the completion of the Alaska Railroad. Visit the Historic Railroad Museum (during the summer season) in the town below to learn more about the history of the railroad. There is even a local small airport with a complimentary van if you want to fly your own plane up with some friends.

The Rustic Aurora Lodge is a great space for entertaining family or friends as it has all the amenities for the perfect Alaskan retreat! Enjoy the lodge indoors or outdoors, with plenty of activities to do in both the winter and summer!

Inside you’ll find board games, dart board, fuse ball table (pending arrival), stocked pantry of snacks, bakeware, cookware, electric fireplace, 60” TV in the living room with smaller TV’s in each of the bedrooms.

If adventuring outdoors in the winter, there is snow for snowball fights, snowman building, sleds for sledding, local dog mushing tour, snow machine trails (bring your own snow machine!), and the whole hillside for exploring. If adventuring outdoors in the summer, visit the Alaskan Gallery (lodge is decorated with art from renowned local photographers), historic Alaska Railroad museum, scenic walks and trails by the river or on the hillside, local small fishing pond for trout or grayling, etc. There is SO SO much more…. But you’ll have to come and explore!

The Rustic Aurora Lodge is a 2,500 sq ft 2 story log Home with an open floor concept plan. The main floor has a large living room with two areas. The first sitting area includes a corner couch, ottoman and chairs facing the TV. The second area includes a loveseat, 4 accent chairs, and an electric fireplace. Both living areas are open to above with a 2-story ceiling. The kitchen and dining room are an open floor concept plan with all the basic cooking and baking amenities.

Bedrooms 1 and 2 are on the main floor and each have a queen size beds with a full bathroom across the hall. The bedroom upstairs is a 700 sq ft loft open to below. Right at the top of the stairs is a nook with a XL Full size bed. Past the nook is the main loft. In the main loft area, there are 2 full-twin bunk beds and a twin bed, with a bathroom adjoining.

It’s location is easily accessible off the Parks highway, but feels remote on 5 acres of hillside property with 2 large lawns and a scenic hillside lookout of the railroad bridge, Denali, and the Aurora!
