About this property

FULLY RENOVATED PERFECT FOR FAMILIES HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE 1ST FLOOR

This fully renovated cape is in the quaint town of Tamworth NH- the gateway to the White Mts and close to the Lakes Region and various wedding venues. The home has a full, well-equipped kitchen and seats 8 comfortably. The open concept living/dining/ kitchen area has a 52" Roku television as well as many games and puzzles. Free Wi-Fi is available. There is a Pack'nPlay, highchair and bedrails available for the littles in your family. This is an ideal rental for an intergenerational family vacation. There are beds for 13 guests, however we limit the number of guests to 8 for the comfort of all.
The house has an enclosed sunporch, usable even on some sunny winter days--a perfect place to sit, relax and read. The finished basement has a playroom with lots of games, toys, books as well as bunkbeds, pullout couch, Roku TV and video games. There's a full bathroom with a tub and shower in the finished basement.
The first floor and outdoor gathering areas are wheelchair accessible (zero step). A brick ramp provides easy access to the house from the driveway and the patio. Doorways on first floor vary from 29"-36". All 3 bathrooms have handicap grab bars and raised toilets. Please contact host with questions.
Our cleaning staff takes pride in their cleaning and sanitation methods. We're sure you will find the home up to your standards.

Seasonally, an outdoor gas grill, table and chairs are available on a brick patio. There is a shady grove under a large maple tree for sitting and visiting with family & friends. A large stone fire pit is a perfect way to unwind at night. Some wood is provided.

During summer months owner may be on adjacent property.

We had a great stay… The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, the grill and fire pit were clean and ready to use, everything we needed for trips to the lakes was there. It was nice to be able to walk to pick up a cup of coffee and baked goods in Tamworth. And, the hosts were responsive and provided lots of good suggestions for making our time in NH fun.

Weekend Family Visit

This is our second time renting this home. It's a great place for family to stay when visiting us in Tamworth. It's quiet, comfortable and has plenty of supplies to make our time there easy.

Great place for a family vacation

We stayed at this home for a week with extended family. There was plenty of room to spread out and so much to do. The kids enjoyed toys in the basement as well as yard games. This was a great home base for day trips to storyland and white lake. There were a lot of little touches that made our trip more comfortable and memorable. Thank you for sharing your family home with us!

Wonderful property!

We stayed at this wonderful house and attended a family wedding at Locke Falls Farm. It was so clean and equipped with every amenity that a family (age ranging from 5y to 92y) could need! Joyce and David have thought of everything! Highly recommend this home!

Wonderful and comfortable!

We had such a great experience staying at this house for a long weekend. The hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating, the property and house are beautiful and well decorated, and all the rooms felt so comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked which is not always a guarantee with a rental, and we were able to easily cook several meals during our stay. Would highly recommend!

Terrific Tamworth Home

This rental is probably the best VRBO property that we've stayed at. The house was clean, comfortable, well maintained and well stocked to handle 7 adults. Communication with the owners was straight forward and timely. As we were in the area for a wedding, the location could not have been better for access to Whiteface Hollow. I would definitely stay here if ever in the area again, and highly recommend the property.

Beautiful home, beautiful location

This home was even more beautiful in reality than the photos could show. We were very impressed with all the details that the hosts thought of and all the details in the home and property itself and had everything that you need and then some. So peaceful and quiet. We saw some turkeys, 🦌 and deer. We rode our bikes and explored the roads, some dirt, of the surrounding area. Great location, close to White Lake State Park and Lake and Mount Chocura. Very relaxing tIme away at David and Joyce's home. THANKYOU!

Something for everyone!

Our stay at David and Joyce's property couldn't have been more perfect. There was enough space for everyone inside and out. The house was very well equipped, with board games for all ages, fans/air conditioners for warmer conditions, extra pillows, blankets, spices, cooking utensils, two TVs, video game consoles, and more. We originally booked this home due to it's wheelchair accessibility for my father, however we were blown away with how awesome the basement was for our kids- they were in heaven! There were tons of toys, games, books, coloring stuff, a pretend kitchen set, and more! This is the most family/kid-friendly rental we've stayed in. The area couldn't have been more conveniently located, just a short drive to some great local breweries. Also close to North Conway where we were able to stop by the craft fair and make a quick visit to Story Land. The town itself was also charming and everything is just a short 5 minute walk away. The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm was amazing... probably my favorite thing about the trip. The trails are open to the public from dawn to dusk and the farm grounds are open 10-3. There are gorgeous mountain views from the farm, lots of cows, goats (we even met with the farmer and were able to pet the 2 week old baby goats!), and a playground for the little ones at the end. Although we weren't able to squeeze it in this trip, there is also a distillery within walking distance too. On the days we weren't up to driving we used the fire pit out back and played some corn hole (that is graciously provided by the hosts). The patio near the house was great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee, and they even provided a brand new Webber grill that we used to cook some delicious steaks. Chocorua Lake was breathtaking to drive by, there is even a private beach for residents that we hope to use the next time. Don't hesitate to book this property, you won't be disappointed.

1st time I've used VRBO. The property was even better than pictured! Everything you could think of was available. The owners are well-organized and provided very thought-through instructions: You just had to 'think' you needed something and it was available. The hosts have gone above and beyond with making sure you have everything you need. Very responsive to questions and made sure everything you needed was there. GREAT property, truly enjoyed the area and even met the neighbors (VERY nice).

We appreciated the cleanliness of the house, nice furniture and it was decorated for the season. Plenty of sleeping spaces. The rooms were comfortable and well decorated. The house itself was wheelchair accessible, except that the bathroom really was not. If you have no mobility, then you will not be able to use the bathroom properly. White Lake Pizza was absolutely fabulous!

Why they chose this property

This property, with an old Victorian era farmhouse on it, was purchased in 1952 by my grandparents. My brothers, cousins and I all have fond memories of visiting Grandma and Grandpa here on holidays and summer trips. In 1975, there was a fire and most of the house was lost. My uncle, a contractor by trade, built the current house in the footprint of the original. The silver lining was they were able to design the new house to be handicap accessible for my grandfather who was in a wheelchair by this time. In the early1990's it changed hands to my parents who spent over two decades of their retirement years enjoying the country lifestyle and all that Tamworth has to offer. My own sons, nieces and nephews also made many memories visiting their grandparents and celebrating countless family events here (and we still do)!
In 2018, my wife and I purchased the house from my now elderly father, as it was becoming too much for him to maintain. We have spent the last few years renovating it and are now happy to offer this fully updated home on VRBO.
As you look around the home, you will notice some of the old doors and stained-glass windows that were salvaged from the original farmhouse.
I have thoroughly enjoyed renovating this property inside and out after spending 40+ years in an IT desk job. My wife is concerned that I may now become bored....hmm...wonder what my next project should be?

What makes this property unique

Downtown Tamworth NH looks like something from the old TV show, Mayberry RFD. It is very quaint with gorgeous restored historic buildings, shops, beautiful panoramic views, farms, rushing rivers, lakes and friendly people.
This house is within a 5-minute walk of the "downtown" area of Tamworth where you will find a bakery/lunch shop, the Distillery, Lyceum, 2 churches, the Barnstormer's Theater, the Swift River, Remick Farm Museum, the library, and more.
If you love the outdoors, there are so many things to do in the Tamworth area with hiking, skiing, kayaking, swimming, golfing etc. If you prefer indoor activities there are lots of restaurants nearby, tax free outlet shopping, theater performances and concerts. There really is something for everyone.
