Soak up amazing beach views from the comfort of your private sixth-floor balcony. Or take a dip in the gulf-front pool. You’ll also enjoy access to a sundeck and a grilling/picnic space.

Additional highlights include a recently updated kitchen with a breakfast bar, three flat screen TVs, and generously sized bedrooms - including a master suite with a king bed and a private en-suite bathroom.

The condo is just 1 mile from Highway 59, and a short walk to a host of attractions, including Gulf State Park, Gulf State Park Pier, beachside eateries, shops, and local music and seafood festivals. Drive less than 20 minutes to Tanger Outlets and OWA.

ABOUT THE CONDO

Take in the sugar white beaches and beautiful gulf views from your private balcony. There’s seating for four and a small table to enjoy snacks and drinks in this picturesque spot.

Inside, an open living area with tiled floors has a 40' flat screen TV with a DVD player. Watch a movie and relax on two comfortable couches.

It’s easy to make quick beach snacks and vacation-worthy meals in the recently updated kitchen, featuring granite countertops and high-end appliances. Keep the chef in your group company at the kitchen bar for two.

When you’re ready to eat, savor a home-cooked dinner at the four-person dining table.

This home sleeps five guests total between two bedrooms.

A master bedroom has a king-size bed, a 32' flat screen TV with a DVD player, and direct balcony access. An en-suite bathroom features a stylishly tiled walk-in shower.

The second bedroom comes with a queen-size bed and a twin bed - both decked out in fun nautical-themed bedspreads. This room also has a 32' flat screen TV with a DVD player and convenient access to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

Guest amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV, an in-unit washer/dryer, and space for two cars in the parking lot. Please note that a fee of $40 will be added to the reservation in order to include two guest parking passes.

As part of The Whaler complex, additional perks include a shared pool, picnic benches, barbecue grills, an outdoor shower, and beach access.

THE LOCATION

You’ll love being within walking distance to the beach. A 4-minute stroll to Gulf State Park will also take you to more stretches of white sand along with miles of walking trails. Rent a kayak and paddleboard for the day, or bring your fishing gear and cast a line off the huge Gulf State Park Pier.

For a family outing, hop in the car and head 4 minutes to Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Or travel 7 minutes to Adventure Island - a fun-filled amusement park with go-karts, an arcade, laser tag, paddle boats, and kids rides.

When dining out, stroll 7 minutes to enjoy the catch of the day at Sea N Suds. For Caribbean-style seafood, head to Gulf Island Grill. Or make your way to The Hangout for live music and an oyster cook-off. Both are within a mile from the condo.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Very Comfortable, very clean, but noisey
The unit is lovely, comfortable and clean. The building is rather old and not sound proof at all. If you aren't a light sleeper, you will probably be fine but for us the noise kept us from sleeping well. This was not a case of noisey neighbors, the sounds were from normal road traffic.

The Whaler needs attention. The elevator was out our entire stay. There is no bathroom by the pool.

Eh…not worth the $
This condo is okay….for the price you can find better. While you technically CAN see the beach, the newer & larger Lighthouse condos block the majority of the view….that building has also set up a dog/smoking/bean bag area that is literally below your window (can you sleep listening to bags being thrown & hit the board until 1 AM)? I cant upload pictures, but let’s just say a very deep cleaning is needed…there is mold in the master shower, dirt build up on the trim & wine stains & peeling paint on the cabinets & stains on the kids bedspreads. All of the remote controls are missing their backs and there were no forks, no small spoons, (we purchased and left some in the condo). I texted the vacasa representatives when we arrived & never heard a response. Also, the description says there is a pull-out bed, but the couches are newer (and nice) but definitely do not contain a pull-out bed. Which is a bummer when you have 3 kids who don’t share beds well & we’re counting on an extra one.

Would not recommend!
The condo was filthy when we arrived, and to Vacasa’s credit, they did send a cleaner over. However, the whole condo is dirty in appearance d/t the paint being so old. Walls and trims and cabinets are scuffed/scraped, and look unclean. The shower has a black mildew or mold ring around the bottom (even the housekeeper could not remove). Add to that the unit is directly across from the elevator and I did not get one decent nights sleep because there is not a room in the entire condo that you can’t hear the elevator going up and down (and rattling when it stops!) all night, every night. Lastly, the items in the drawers and cabinets were dirty, and when we arrived to find no forks, Vacasa actually advised utensils weren’t included in this unit?!?! Seriously, ridiculous for what we paid for this unit. Extremely disappointed.

Beach vacay at the whaler 6A
Not a pleasant experience , daughter got stuck in the elevator the first night, only one fork In the kitchen! How do 5 people eat with one fork?? Kitchen is not stocked at all , little of everything, we cook and have family meals while at the beach, hard to eat some things with a tablespoon .: will not be staying at the whaler again.. when arrived my daughter had to wipe down all the Dusty furniture, and spray Lysol …floor was full of sand also.. no taking your shoes off for sure. Only plus for this unit was scalding hot water.
