About this property

Holiday house Calonico for 6 - 9 persons with 5 bedrooms - Holiday house

ED Ref. 1939337

Holidays in the monument combines heritage preservation and tourism. Historically valuable Bauzeugen be taken, gently renovated and rented as apartments. The model allows a double win: The monuments received a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is realized by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Homeland Security.

Parking: There is a parking space directly at the house. The access to the house is guaranteed.

Public transport: Take the train to Locarno until Faido. In Faido the bus 191 goes to Bellinzona until Lavorgo. Change to bus 124, which will take you to Calonico.

Number of persons 4-9: There is a cot (up to 2 years) available. The house is located on the village square in Calonico and can accommodate four to nine guests (plus baby). From the front door, turn right into the kitchen, where there is a small dining table. To the left of the corridor is a double bedroom with its own shower / WC. From the kitchen directly accessible or from the corridor is the large fireplace room with a large dining table and a typical Ticino Chéminée, which ensures a cozy atmosphere. Next to the dining room is the living room and next to it a smaller adjoining room with exit to the other side of the house. From the dining room a steep staircase leads to the 1st. Floor. There are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. One with shower / WC and one with bathtub / WC. Another floor up is a single room. From the corridor you can see through a glass wall the covered and unsecured screed at the front. The house can only be rented for six people and is then cheaper. The floors are made of wood and stone which is why we recommend good slippers.

Garden: The covered forecourt is available for holiday guests to use. The house is located directly on the village square of Calonico and so can be directly participated in the village life. Nearby is a separate garden for the guests. The garden furniture, a barbecue and umbrellas are available in the house and are available. For children there is a tent in the house, which they can set up in the garden and may also use to stay in the garden.

WLAN: Is available.

Open: The house can be rented from April to October and Christmas / New Year.

Pet are allowed.

Height: 965 m.

Casa Regina - Leventines house the 17th century. century
History & Information
The Casa Regina is a notable example of a Leventine house. The valley side typically made of wood and other mountain stone built houses reflect an example of the history of Leventina, which is marked by influences the near Uri and Milan. The Ticino less common log building comes from the influence of Uri on the other side of the Gotthard, the stone construction can be ascribed to the wide availability of the construction material and the other part be attributed to the Blessed rather with wealth Ticino families. The building, built in 1684, is characterized not least by its open screed area, which most likely served to dry the harvest and the typical Ticinese sausages.

After a long vacancy, it was extensively and consistently restored by the then owner in a desolate condition from 1985-1995. There has arisen a work that constitutes a milestone in the conservation of historic buildings.

renovation
The renovation of the wooden structure - including the facades, the wooden balconies, as well as the renovation of all wooden walls and wooden floors in the interior of the house - claimed the major part of the renovation work. With the exception of the support beams on the mountain side living spaces, the original substance could remain weitgehenst. Mountain side, the structure was so desolate that it was decided to remove the Tragstuktur completely and create an on-high Capacity Atrium. This now takes up the porch and the balustrades and lets the guests experience the stately grandeur of the house as a fireplace room.

Furthermore, although technologically equipped contemporary, do not comply with certain functional details now common standards and pose a possible safety hazard. In particular, it should be noted that entering the open floor area at your own risk. These circumstances are known to the tenant. Authentique
