Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.
Car park: There is a car park right next to the house. Access to the house is guaranteed.
Public transport: By train either via Bellinzona or the Gotthard mountain line to Lavorgo: change there to bus 124, which runs to Calonico Piazza right up to the house.
Number of persons 2-6: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house is located directly on the village square in Calonico and can accommodate up to six guests (plus baby). The entrance door leads to the kitchen on the right, where there is a small dining table. To the left of the corridor is a double bedroom with its own shower/WC. Directly accessible from the kitchen or from the corridor is the large fireplace room with a large dining table and a typical Ticino fireplace, which creates a cosy atmosphere. Next to the dining room is the living room and next to it a smaller parlour with access to the other side of the house. A steep staircase leads from the dining room to the 1st floor. There is a double room, a single room and two bathrooms. One with a shower/WC and one with a bathtub/WC. Another single room is located one floor higher. From the corridor you can see the covered and unsecured attic through a glass wall. The floors are made of wood and stone, which is why we recommend good slippers.
Garden: The covered forecourt is available for use by holiday guests. The house is located directly on the village square of Calonico, so you can participate directly in village life.

Open: The house can be rented from April to October and Christmas/New Year.
Pets: Are allowed.
Altitude: 965 metres above sea level.
Other living room facilities: The house-high fireplace room forms the centre of the house and is equipped with a dining table for 10 people.
Other bedroom facilities: The double bedroom (180 x 200) is on the ground floor and has its own bathroom with WC. Cot on request.
Other kitchen equipment: In the kitchen you will find modern kitchen fittings, which are equipped with a ceramic hob, oven and dishwasher. All necessary utensils and sufficient crockery are available. A mocha pot (screw coffee) is at your disposal. You will need ground coffee for this.

Casa Regina is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, certain functional details do not meet current standards and harbour a potential source of danger. In particular, it should be noted that entering the open floor area is at the tenant's own risk. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal disclaim any liability.
