I could not be any happier with where I stayed. I felt like I was in a real part of Chișinău: a commie bloc with the best parts of classic Soviet planning such a convenient grocer within the bloc and a small public square. The inside of the bloc has the Soviet charm with the modern renovations. The apartment itself is not Soviet whatsoever: it has all of the Western middle-class comforts. Vasile and his wife were exemplary hosts: easy to communicate with and even came in the middle of the night when I couldn't open a bathroom door. Just so much patience when my travel plans delayed my arrival to the apartment. I would give six stars if I could. Absolutely recommend.
