Located 6 km from the small village of Longes, La Grange des Balas invites you to enjoy an enchanting getaway in an exceptional natural setting. Nestled in the heart of a hamlet surrounded by nature, this beautiful stone house welcomes you to a bucolic and unspoiled setting, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Surrounded by a vast flower-filled garden bordered by dry-stone walls, the house stands at the heart of a charming estate, ideal for a rejuvenating weekend or a holiday in the countryside. Here, tranquility reigns, punctuated by birdsong and the rustling of the wind through the broom—the “balas” from which brooms were once made. It is also the name of the family that has lived on this farm since the 15th century and gave the hamlet its name. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be charmed by the large, private terrace in front of the house, offering a magnificent view of the countryside and, in the distance, the city of Lyon. This space, accessible directly from the cottage, is perfect for sharing convivial meals or moments of relaxation. On-site parking. Inside, the warm and authentic house reflects the passionate work of the owners, who have carefully renovated it over the years. The ground floor features a kitchen, a spacious living room (with a decorative fireplace), two bedrooms (each sleeping 2 people), a bathroom, a shower room, and two toilets. Upstairs, an attic space offers two connecting bedrooms for 4 people. Reversible heat pump. Upon request, you can enjoy a vaulted summer dining room, a bike storage area, and a shared washing machine. The owner, Marie-Noëlle, lives quietly at the back of the house and will be happy to give you advice on exploring the region’s treasures. Things to do: Hiking, biking, or horseback riding on the Pilat trails; the historic village of Ste-Croix-en-Jarez; the Gallo-Roman sites of Vienne and Saint-Romain-en-Gal; and the St-Martin-la-Plaine wildlife park.
