The location is fantastic - to be between Castro and Noe Valley neighborhoods. We found street parking to be manageable if you are aware of the street cleaning and 2 hr limits on certain blocks. There was laundry in the building which was a nice surprise. The owner was responsive to our questions. Our only constructive feedback is 1- The photos and description on the listing were not very clear that it is a kitchen with a small bar sink and 2 burner range top versus a full kitchen you might expect in a 2 bedroom apartment. 2- We had issues with the temperature in the apartment being too hot even as it was much cooler outside. There are fans for each room but it wasn't enough to cool the kitchen / living room down. Would recommend this is looked into to make it comfortable for future guests.
Our son was in the hospital in critical condition for over two months. We needed a place to basically sleep, shower, do laundry, and grab a bite to eat. We choose this apartment because it was close to UCSF and it had a washer/dryer.The door code made it easy to go in and out of the unit without having to remember keys. There were few instructions about the unit except for how to take out the trash. The laundry wasn’t in the unit as I had expected. We had to leave the unit, go down the front stairs and into a downstairs hallway to access the shared washer and dryer. This wasn’t optimal and had we known, we would have chosen another listing. The oven/microwave didn’t work. We asked the property owner about it and were told to go check the breaker box in the garage that was buried behind a large pile of boxes. We didn’t feel we had time to bother with this as our priority was being at the hospital with our son so we purchased a microwave so we could heat up food. I would have expected them to take care of this. The cooking implements were old and not of high quality. The window in the back bedroom was wide open (no screen) for weeks and wouldn’t latch when discovered. The house wasn’t clean when we arrived - the floor needed multiple moppings to get clean. In the bathroom, the showerhead didn’t have great pressure and there were broken tiles in the shower and the sink. When my son’s discharge got delayed, we chose to go to a hotel vs try to extend our stay.
