Girls weekend
We came to the property for a girls weekend. The property description was as misleading as it gets. It says “near night life”… We literally shared a wall with a night club, blasting music all night, shaking the house. There was broken glass on the walkway leading to the steps of our door, and broken glass on our kitchen counter. Upon asking for help with low shower water pressure and a minimally working fridge, we received a message asking us to mess with electrical breakers and vents, rather than actual help with our concern. There was a broken area in the flooring in the dining room, which felt unsafe. The parking was advertised as “parking” available, but after booking the listing we find out there is no on-site parking, but rather we must pay for a parking garage every night (which was over $30/day each, for two vehicles). Finally, we were asked multiple times to check out of the property earlier than our original 11am checkout time, while they were unwilling to offer any favors or help to us the entire trip. In short, I would NEVER recommend this property to a friend, or an enemy.

Great place, horrible location
I wish I could give this place 5 stars! I really and truly do! It’s neat, decorated nicely, and in a great location in regards to shopping and dining. However, it also shares a wall with a techno/rave/rooftop bar that literally shakes the walls until the wee hours of the morning. During the daytime hours, this place is wonderful, even down to being over a Subway, and being able to smell that bread baking downstairs! But the biggest reason you have a VRBO is to have a place to lay your head and get some sleep, at least for us. Combine that with the line of fairly intoxicated and loud folks standing in line waiting to access the party, it was quite loud. At one time there were 5 police cruisers just sitting in the street to keep things as calm as possible. Now, if you are a fan of pulsing, booming music, this is your place! But definitely not for my family and I, which is a shame. It’s obvious there has been a good amount of money put into this place, I just wish it was 100 yards away from where it is now. And I know it says it’s “next to nightlife”, but for me that’s like saying the surface of the sun can get a little warm, you won’t need a sweater. The problem is, unless the race moves, there isn’t much that can be done to fix this, which is a real shame.

I love traveling, my family, my dog, green tea, coffee, sushi, making music, nutrition, reading, meeting new people, and living life to the fullest. I work for Yelp and put on public events in Charleston. I've lived in Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA; Jupiter, FL; Chattanooga, TN; New Haven, CT; Athens, GA; and now I live in Charleston, SC and NEVER want to leave.

I live by the motto "Leave nothing behind but good will". I'm a big believer in karma and care about quality control in what I do. I hope to not only be a good host, but your friend and guide (if needed) during your stay here in the best city in America :) I want you to also see whats good in the locals eyes and not just what is marketed to the tourists.
