About this property

Gîte du Loup Blanc - FONTENAY

Passionate about classic cars (which partly inspired the cottage's decor), Nicole and Paul welcome you to an elegant, authentic, and meticulously restored 19th-century farmhouse, nestled in the peaceful heart of the unspoiled Charolais countryside (on a protected ZNIEFF site renowned for its rich wildlife), on the edge of one of the smallest villages in Saône-et-Loire. Enjoy absolute tranquility, nestled on the edge of meadows, bordering a beautiful wild forest, in the heart of the magnificent local bocage (home to the peaceful and famous Charolais cows in season). A soothing haven of nature and greenery, a true sanctuary of peace and rest, offering the rare privilege of observing wildlife (deer, hares, foxes, birds of prey, dormice, and numerous other birds). The cottage is very comfortable and extremely spacious, with a large living area. A warm, rustic charm with contemporary touches, enhanced by the rich traces of the original structure (fireplace mantel, lintels, niches and stone pillars, terracotta tiles, beams, etc.). Full of charm and character. Cozy and inviting. A sunny terrace complemented by a large sheltered terrace. A very pleasant 1-hectare property, meticulously landscaped with lawns, greenery, flowers, and trees (cherry, pear, peach, and mirabelle plum trees... / fruit picking possible), featuring an unusual small pond (with frogs and goldfish) and a "natural" pétanque court in the courtyard. Composition: Adjoining cottage to the owners' residence (completely independent). Wi-Fi (fiber optic). Mixed central heating (wood/oil). Air conditioning upstairs. Ground floor: living room/kitchen/lounge (sofa bed 130x190cm can be used as a sleeping area), bedroom (double bed 140x190cm) with TV and en-suite shower room (shower/WC), shower room, separate WC. First floor: bedroom (double bed 140x190cm + single bed 90x190cm), mezzanine TV lounge, bathroom (bath/WC). Private terrace, covered terrace, and parking. Shared garden (1 hectare). Amenities including a supermarket 7.5 km away. Lovely little corner of the countryside nestled on the edge of the woods! Elegant, authentic, traditional 19th-century farmhouse, fully renovated into a comfortable, charming holiday home, nestled in a quiet setting on the edge of meadows and forests - on a pleasant, well-kept 1-hectare property - in the heart of the unspoiled Charolais countryside (on a site protected as a ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems) on the edge of one of the smallest villages in Saône-et-Loire, 7.5 km from Charolles, the "Charolais Venice", the famous city of Charles the Bold (all amenities on site, including a supermarket). A peaceful, hilly setting combining agriculture and nature, nestled in the hollow of the gentle Arconce Valley, in the heart of the bucolic local bocage dotted with ponds, rivers and deep wild forests. Prime location on the routes of various marked footpaths (connected to a vast network of "green walks" crisscrossing the area, some of which are very close by, to be explored on foot or by mountain bike), adjoining the circuit of Romanesque churches, 11 km from the Voie Verte du Canal du Centre (linked to the Eurovélo6 as well as the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo"), 14 km from the GR7, 17 km from the Voie Verte "Véloire" (along the Loire, the last wild river in Europe, protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone") connected to the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône et Loire à vélo), 20 km from a marked mountain bike route labeled "VTT-FFC" (linked to a vast network of similar routes crisscrossing the Brionnais), around thirty km from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais as well as the Côtes Chalonnaises and around fifty km from the vineyards of Beaujolais, the first vineyard in the world recognized as a "UNESCO Global Geopark" ("Burgundy Wine Route" & various Beaujolais Wine Routes to discover). In the heart of the magnificent territory of Charolais-Brionnais (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), a land of ultra-renowned breeding & traditions rich in sumptuous landscapes & an exceptional historical heritage, cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed, at the crossroads of Mâconnais, Clunisois-Tournugeois (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") & Chalonnais, not far from Beaujolais, Sologne & Montagne Bourbonnaise as well as the Roannais region. Prime location for exploring (RCEA 9 km): 16 km from Paray-le-Monial, 27 km from the medieval village of Mont-Saint-Vincent (one of the most beautiful sites in Burgundy with a literally unique 360° panoramic "belvedere"), 32 km from Digoin (river marina nestled at the convergence of 3 canals), 36 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais (awarded the very rare "Most Beautiful Villages of France" label), 36 km from Marcigny, 37 km from the illustrious abbey city of Cluny, 41 km from the charming medieval city of Saint-Gengoux-le-National (awarded "Cities of Character of Burgundy-Franche-Comté"), 45 km from the TGV station of Le Creusot, 46 km from Charlieu, 54 km from the sumptuous landscaped jewel of the Roche de Solutré, a "Grand Site de France" (Great Site of France), is 54 km from the Mâcon Loché TGV train station. The perfect base for a relaxing family getaway! Ideal for children!
