THE TAYLOR COTTAGE



Sit back and enjoy the stunning sunrise while sipping on your freshly brewed coffee while having the best view of the amazing 10,000+ acre, ALL SPORTS, and amazing fishing, Big Manistique Lake! The Cottage includes 3 Beds and 2 full futon beds so bring the whole family and some of your best friends! The start of a family tradition starts with a cozy and loving cottage in the great outdoors of the UP. With just a short drive you can experience the UP’s finest views such as Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, and Downtown Curtis! The Taylor Cottage offers many amenities including 2 KAYAKS, outdoor patio furniture, a fire-pit, and a charcoal grill to use during the sunny days of summer! Kids will LOVE swimming in the clean and sandy water around the dock. We encourage guests to bring their boats to enjoy the lake. We hope that we can start your next FAMILY TRADITION here at The Taylor Cottage.





THE SPACE





Bedrooms - 



The Taylor Cottage offers a 3 Bedroom + 1 Spare Bedroom with 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 2 full size mattress futons in the spare bedroom. The Masters bedroom offers a lake side view with a sliding door that opens up to the porch and an en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The house in total has 2 full baths and 1 half bath. 



Kitchen - 



The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make a complete meal for the whole family. We have coffee maker for the early morning risers that want to enjoy the sunrise. We even have a pancake griddle and a George Forman grill! 



Family Room -



We hope you can sit back at the end of the night in 1 of our 6 reclining seats in our family room. We do have a handful of games, coloring books, and books stocked in our cottage for people of all ages to have some fun. We do our best to keep furniture and carpeting as clean as we can so we do respectfully ask that our guest try their best as well to keep the place as clean as possible. 



Outdoors - 



Relaxation is the most important at the Taylor Cottage! The sound of the waves while you sit by the shoreline hammock is a must. You can also indulge in some s'mores as you sit around the stone fire-pit. We have lots of chairs that you can use around the fire but we do ask that all chairs are to be put back to their original locations so the nexts guest can enjoy them just as much! Don't forget to bring some fishing poles because Big Manistique lake is known for their fishing (Walleye, Pike, Perch, Bass, and Muskellunge). We do have 1 exterior camera facing the road for insurance purposes. For all the dads that want to show of their grilling skills we have a new charcoal grill ready to cook up some delicious foods.

Beautiful view of the lake and nice swimming area. Good dock and pontoon lift available to use. It’s a good fishing lake and pontoons can be rented locally for reasonable rates. Well appointed home and very clean. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of games and books for kids and adults. The host is very pleasant and is available to answer any questions quickly. The was our fourth stay and are planning to return next year.

Wonderful place. I wish we had more nice days to enjoy the lake, but the lake was beautiful. The kayaks were fun to use for a couple days we could. It took a while for us to get the hang of where all the grocery stores and supplies will be, but by the end of the week we had it down. I hope we can use it again someday. Thank you for letting us use your cottage.

Overall our stay was wonderful! On the days we were not out admiring the area and sights, we would relax at the cabin and hang out. Both the living room and the kitchen had great space and allowed us to have a couple people cook together. Would not say no to another stay here!

The property is beautiful! We loved the giant yard and spent many hours playing games and enjoying the lake. Check and check out were easy and tons of clear instructions. We loved all the tiny touches - like the soft blankets provided for outdoor use! Kitchen was very well stocked and tons of storage space. Linens and beds are very soft and comfortable. So much storage between closets and dressers! The kids swam and searched for crawfish for hours. The location was good to the major places we wanted to go, but we spent most of our time at the cottage - great place to stay!

Fantastic place!

We had a great stay and found everything exactly as advertised. The host was very responsive answering questions ahead of our stay. Well stocked kitchen, games, even kayaks. We had our family of four (two teens), my parents and my aunt and uncle and the space was exactly what we needed. Our stay was perfect and we can’t wait to come again!

A Must Stay for a Getaway

Beautifully located on the lake in a moderately wooded, secluded area. Well maintained and cozy, with ample living space. Thoughtfully staged and stocked with newer linens/towels, games, and movies for all ages. Kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare onsite meals. They even thought of supplying firewood and cozy outdoor blankets!

Amazing property! Everything we needed was available. Very friendly hosts! Only thing I would say is that around the dock is pretty rocky and full of shells, so it's probably best to have water shoes, especially for kiddos. Absolutely loved the property!

Our family booked the Taylor Cottage to enjoy snowmobiling with our family February 2023 - super nice place to stay. Clean, equipped with condiments, basic cooking items, spices, plenty of nice fluffy towels - Comfy beds. The property is a located on the lake with breathtaking views, lots of space for parking (we had 3 cars). We would book this house/location again - We would love to enjoy the Summer water and swimming/firepit/deck. We would definitely recommend this property

Sunroom with a View

I couldn’t give it a perfect rating because they are in the process of fixing it up. The inside was great. The outside still has some work to be done. I am confident it will have 5 stars soon. I loved this cottage! Morning coffee in the sunroom was my favorite part. The cottage is well equipped and if you have a problem, their response is quick. I would definitely stay there again.

Great home away from home!

The Taylor Cottage was the perfect home base during our exploration of the UP. The house was immaculate, had plenty of spacefor the whole family, and was cozy and comfy. The outdoor space was wonderful for morning kayaking as well as evening meals by the lake. The kitchen was super well equipped for cooking all kinds of meals throughout the week. We appreciated the kayaks, having a washer & dryer, and even being able to park our car in the garage. Will was quick to respond to questions, made great suggestions for things to do and places to visit during our trip, and was super helpful and quick to find an alternative when the door keypad didn't work.

Taylor Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at the Taylor Cottage.(for the most part- I will explain below) We had 5 adults, 3 kids & an infant with us and it was the perfect size for us. The drive to the Big Spring & the Falls were within reasonable distance. The town of Curtis we were able to find everything we needed! Fishing was not the greatest but the lake was perfect for tubing! The only thing that went wrong was the first night there, we started a small fire. The neighbor decided to come over to tell us we should not be burning while it was windy and dry because she didn’t want her house to burn down. (Yes it was a little windy but nothing out of the ordinary and the ground was not dry- we also have fires all the time at home). We respected the neighbor and put out the fire but I felt that it was uncalled for as it was our vacation and because we paid to stay there, we shouldn’t be visited by neighbors telling us we can’t have a fire. The neighbor made us feel belittled and almost ruined our vacation for us but we decided to look past it.
