Intolerable Smell
I booked a three night stay for my family of six. While the house is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood and the owner was quite communicative, my family and I were compelled to leave a day early because of the overwhelming stench of marijuana and cigarettes that permeated everything, including the mattresses. My son, who lives in the area, would not even bring my grandchildren over because of the smell.
The owners had tried to mask the smell with plug-in air fresheners in every room, but for a family of non-smokers, the effort was insufficient.
There were no futons as advertised and there was only a small pod coffee maker (useless when we were expecting a regular coffee maker.) There was not enough silverware or dishes to serve six people and the cookware was so corroded, we were afraid to use it.
I did not receive a response from the owner after I informed him we were leaving early because of the strong smell. I do not recommend this house if you are a non-smoker, have small children, or wish to cook and eat in the rental.
