About this property

Laguna Beach Gem with Amazing View

This unique Laguna home is set on a beautiful half acre that backs up to a gorgeous pristine canyon. The house, built behind high walls, has a gated entry that opens into a quiet, secluded garden.

The kitchen, with it's granite island and six burner gas range, is a cook's paradise. We've outfitted our kitchen with the finest knives, cookware and dishes. The bar on one side of the granite island is the perfect place to sip morning coffee while watching the news on the flat screen TV at the end of the kitchen.

Both the master bedroom and first guest room have king sized beds. The third bedroom is a queen.

We stock beach equipment for our tenants, chairs, beach bags, towels, umbrellas and children's toys.


The house is light filled and airy with beautiful views in every direction. Look to the canyon and down to the sea or turn back to gaze at the flower filled garden courtyard with its bird bath and giant birds of paradise.

Alta Laguna Park is just up the hill from the house. There are six public tennis courts, biking and hiking trails, a baseball park, basketball courts and a terrific children's playground.

Our home offers the peace of a retreat but is only minutes away from downtown Laguna and the beaches.

Wonderful vacation rental!

I can't say enough good things about this property. The location is great with wonderful views of the ocean and the canyon. We saw red tail hawks and hummingbirds each day and even a coyote one morning. The house itself is so well equipped with everything you could possibly ask for. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is very well stocked. The gardens and the courtyard are absolutely beautiful and look like they are lovingly cared for. My family felt very much at home here and it made for a wonderful vacation experience.

Our SoCal Summer Beach Getaway

These 5 weeks went by way too fast, but what a place to enjoy yourselves. Location was just perfect for everything we wanted to do; Alfresco dining at a myriad of venues, coastal living, views for ever, hiking/walking trails, etc. The property was fully provisioned, you had everything you possibly could need. We loved it!!!!

House was very comfortable with everything you would need to enjoy your vacation.

The courtyard was very private with beautiful wicker furniture. The view of the ocean and canyon was scenic from the bedrooms, dining room and living room.The style of the home is eclectic and very comfortable. The deck off the dining room and one of the bedrooms was nice to relax on and just chill out. Wendy, the owner, was available at all times to assist with any problems that occurred. The home also included things for the beach. I can't think of anything you would need to bring other than your clothes. .

The perfect home away from home!

I almost hate to leave a review because we don't want to give away this hidden gem :) -- We absolutely loved this home! It had everything you could want in a rental. The house felt extremely homey and having a full, beautiful kitchen was great! One of our favorite things was spending time in the front courtyard, it was a wonderful little oasis. The house has a great energy. We traveled with our two dogs who also loved this property. The backyard was perfect for them. Wendy couldn't have been more of a pleasure to stay in contact with. The house is just far away enough from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to get there in a few minutes. And we loved being so close to Alta Laguna/Top of the World park for some great hikes, views and sports. Honestly, we have no negative comments or areas of improvement! It's obvious to say we will definitely be returning in the near future! :)

Absolutely Delighted With Everything

My husband and I enjoyed our recent stay at this beautiful and well-maintained home in Laguna Beach. It is located in a quiet location and is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is ideal -- close to the beach, shopping, a nice park, and good restaurants. The owners are absolutely wonderful. We can't thank them enough for opening their beautiful home to us. The home is serene, beautifully decorated, and the furnishings are well-maintained and comfortable. The kitchen is a chef's dream. We were impressed with how generously stocked this home was - with everything we needed for our home away from home--from coffeemaker, dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans, storage containers, to cleaning supplies and paper goods. The view of the ocean is beautiful, and the yard for the home is spacious -- both front and back. We enjoyed the lush front courtyard just as much as we enjoyed the beautiful deck in the back and the tiered yard. This home is one of the best vacation rentals we have had in Southern California. We already booked for next June and can't wait to return.

Our second visit to the Laguna Beach Gem

My wife and I rented this delightful home for the second time in August 2013 and we enjoyed a wonderful month in Laguna Beach. We love the private courtyard, the ocean views from every major room, the superbly equipped kitchen and the comfortable furnishings. We just can't say enough about this beautiful property and the very accommodating owners... except that we've already reserved another visit!

We had a wonderful time in this home. The walking/biking trails are very close and the scenery is beautiful. The home is extremely comfortable and the owners are so very accommodating. We definitely will be returning. And, it is amazing to come back on Monday morning to a clean home, clean bedding and all the rest. Wonderful!

This really is a Laguna Beach Gem

My wife and I discovered this wonderful property while vacationing in the area last year and immediately booked it for August 2011. Perched almost at "Top of the World" it proved to be even better than we had remembered. Photos don't do justice to the magnificent canyon and ocean views from almost every room and can't convey the serenity you feel when you enter the house through the gated garden (which our wire fox terrier quickly claimed as hers). The house has a great floor plan which easily accomodated our daughter and her family who joined us for two weeks, it was very comfortably furnished and superbly equipped. We called Wendy, the delightful owner, who had to awaken the Maytag repairman to fix one of the two, yes two, washers. When we spoke, she asked if either the hanging flower baskets in the courtyard or the live orchids in the house needed to be replaced. We've rented through VRBO many times and never been asked if it's time to replace the orchids. This really is a Laguna Beach Gem. Frank & Rosemary, August 2011

Our time at Wendy and Lar...

Our time at Wendy and Larry’s home made for the best summer ever. The house, the furnishings, the views, etc. etc. can’t be beat. If you like to cook you will LOVE the kitchen. We spent most of our time in there just hanging out (and eating and drinking ;-). Our two Scottish Terriers had a back yard to run and chase all the critters. The courtyard was very serene and we enjoyed all the potted herbs and vegetables that were there just for us! You won’t find another rental like it!

We stayed in this fabulou...

We stayed in this fabulous place that was just like home except for the ocean and canyon views, cool breezes and the quaint town of Laguna Beach. The home is very roomy,has everything that I needed in the kitchen and the master bedroom was to die for...I wanted to take the bed and linens home with me. Wendy and Larry make sure you have ALL you need. The place is well stocked and has a weekly housekeeper to make it better than home..We are taking it for the month of August. Can't wait to get back....

I grew up in Laguna. My family has been in Laguna for over a hundred years. This was my mother's beloved home, designed and built by my architect brother in 1974. We live in Oregon most of the year where my husband has a practice.

Why they chose this property

When we inherited this property it seemed wise to sell but first we needed to remove the thirty year old green shag carpet, the green pebbled vinyl flooring, the flocked wallpaper and 25 shell collages adorning the walls. Once this was done an incredibly beautiful house emerged. Our next goal was to regain the view. We negotiated with our neighbor to trim his trees and removed the inner courtyard jungle, planting grass with flower boarders to create a quiet garden for our guests. And we fell in love with the house and couldn't part with it even though we're not able to visit very often.
