Dog hair all over the floor that caused us severe allergies. Large flies all over the windows even after killing them daily. Very small hard couch. Great location in the ski valley.
Such an amazing place to stay for hitting up the slopes everyday!!!
We loved staying here. The location is great for skiing and the creek next to the house just makes the property more beautiful. There were four of us (2 couples) and having the three rooms for options gave everyone a choice.

I would definitely rent to this group again. I’m glad they were able to enjoy skiing in Taos.
We really enjoyed our stay at Mindy’s cabin. The location is excellent, and the cabin is comfortable and well supplied. Mindy was a great help with our technical difficulties since my husband and I are technologically challenged. My husband enjoyed being within walking distance to a hiking trail, and I loved sitting by the beautiful stream. Since the cabin is in the forest, it was not surprising to have four legged creatures visiting inside. Overall the cabin and Mindy provided everything we needed for a very pleasant getaway.
Such a great location, so close to the slopes. So nice to wake up to the light and the sound of the stream nearby. Spacious for me and my two teens and I loved how well stocked the kitchen was with gear! Blender, excellent cooking knives, etc. Heated floor in the bathroom was a treat, as was the nice big tv screen for watching movies. Rustic cozy!
We had a good experience at the cabin for the Christmas holiday. We were expecting a somewhat rustic experience, and the cabin delivered (read the information manual upon check in, it will fill you in). We loved how close it was to the ski slopes and to town, and the cabin had everything we needed.
If you are heading to New Mexico to ski Taos this is the perfect place to stay. The A-frame has all the basics in the kitchen to cook meals, a wood burning stove to stay warm, 3 comfy queen size beds and a short drive to the resort. The owner was great at communication and responded immediately to answer any of my questions. Would stay again.
I can't say enough good things about our stay. We loved this rustic cabin - it was clean when we arrived and the whole house with stocked with any amenities we could need throughout our stay. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was fully stocked, and the shower was hot. The STREAM was amazing - we had a bonfire next to the stream and it set our experience to the next level. The drive to any activities we did or the main town area was no more than 30 minutes and the views along the way made it seem shorter. We had an awesome time and would stay here again if we are ever in Taos!

Perfect!
Impeccably tidy and charming little cottage. We could hear the babbling brook inside, and the birds posed for pictures out front. Everything we needed was exactly where it should be. The woodstove kept us cozy through a surprise cold snap! A lovely and serene spot I can't wait to visit again.

We enjoyed our stay in your house and had a good time skiing on the mountain. The house was comfortable and we actually ended up cooking all dinners there instead of going out for dinner. - Scott
The cutest cabin, at the perfect spot in the mountains!
We had the BEST time in New Mexico! The cabin was perfect, and had everything that we needed and more! We loved the the Rio Hondo that ran right by the cabin! Getting to hear it run was the highlight of the trip! It was so relaxing! We couldn’t have gotten a better spot! So much to see! The views are breathtaking! We will definitely be back! Thank you Mindy for sharing your home with us! You were awesome!

I’m so happy you enjoyed your stay. I hope you visit Taos again soon.

Overall, the cabin suited our stay. The cabin lacks central heating and has a lot of glass windows, so the first morning was freezing cold, but it took us a couple of days to figure out how to balance out all of the space heaters to fully heat the place. After that the place was cozy and comfortable. We lost our Wi-Fi for a few hours one morning, but it came back somehow. There's no cell service, so the Wi-Fi is essential.
Our family enjoyed the stay at the cabin. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare all of our meals at a low cost. The location next to the river was perfect. If you like hiking, it is very close to two beautiful trails. The beds were very comfortable. The upper loft was very big. The cabin has a unique structure and build. It has been well maintained and updated. You can’t see the shower in the pictures but it is very nice. We stayed in the summer and had no need to run the heat. Hot was was VERY hot! Some people had trouble with that but we didn’t. We hope to return again soon.
Rustic? Yes. Great Location? Yes. Affordable? Yes. Ours was a group of three old men who have been coming to ski at TSV for over 25+ years. We've stayed at prob 10 -15 locations throughout the valley (at base, in valley, in town). Based on my experience, for the proximity to the resort, this is good affordable option. Everything in the cabin worked as advertised. Previous reviews mentioned issues with hot water. We had zero issues with the hot water. Plenty of hot water (on demand) during our stay. This was an enjoyable experience for us and the other old dudes in the group said they would be happy to stay there again.
Looking for a overpriced place without hot water? This is the place for you. This was our rough experience in January of 2024, no working water the first 2 nights of our stay and no hot water the remainder. The host's response was "boil water for a tub" no thank you that'd take 6 hours. Very disappointed with the hospitality of the host. Luckily we're used to dry cabins backcountry skiing which was what our trip amounted to. You can probably do better, elsewhere.

Unfortunately the water froze when the previous renters let the house get cold. I was not informed about the hot water until the renters had left which is very disappointing since it was a simple reset button.
For starters, property owner did not send directions to house or instructions on how to access the house. When I called her, she stated she had been too busy. With all due respect to the owner, I feel the property was not as listed. The listing stated their was a woodstove, but did not state that the woodstove was the only source of heat for the living room and kitchen. If we wanted heat in that part of the house we needed to get wood from the outdoor shed and manage burning and cleaning the stove. No woodstove, no heat. Additionally the shower walls are constructed of cedar, which was dirty and covered with soap. Very unsanitary. One bedroom had beer bottles on the floor next to the bed. Tub was full of dead flies, and shower valve did not function properly, and falling out of the wall. Obviously the house had not been cleaned before our arrival. The front porch is supported by blocks that are falling over, which was not clear from the exterior photo as there was a lot of snow covering the porch in the picture provided by the owner for the listing. Microwave does not work at all. Entire house has inadequate electrical outlets. There was an extension cord across the floor of one bedroom with an electric heater plugged in to it. A tripping hazard, not to mention the cord was hot which indicates it is overloaded. The house has a dirty, foul smell to it, which I believe is from the creosote from the woodstove. Screws missing from stove flue and laying on top of stove.

Rustic, a little basic
Wood burning oven heat was difficult to regulate. Electrical system in house looked retrofitted, some sockets didn’t work or were intermittent. TV very basic, you better have a streaming service. The house had a lot of flies & dead flies under upstairs bed. It could use an upgrade to the heating system given the cold weather in Taos Ski Valley. I was disappointed and uncomfortable, I looked forward to leaving. I’d give it a 4/10

Not what I expected
To start they don’t mention the narrow small bridge turn off highway.
The place was grown OVER like a jungle and had NOT been taken care off. Pic depicted a nice cabin by the stream. I would say its just a little less than that. Window in/on loft where we had wanted to sleep and listen to the creek was sealed over so you could not let any heat out of the shack/cabin or listen to the outside stream. Front or side or both entry are a little sketchy on the build. I have pic if anyone wants to see the truth of if it all. Bbrad3 at ya hoo!

Issues
TLDR: good location but issues with water and owner so better off staying anywhere else
I’ll start by saying that we accidentally booked the wrong weekend. Owner said no cancel + refund because it was too close to the dates. That was understandable, and our problem, so we decided to come anyways and took the time off. The owner seems to believe our water issues were part of a grand conspiracy to get a refund. Upon arriving late at night, we had no water in the cabin. This was problematic because the closest store still open was around 30 mins away. We tried messaging the owner through the app to no avail. The next morning we awoke to a message from her stating that we had to flip the switch on the breaker to turn on the water pump. She had apparently left a voicemail earlier in the day prior, but I did not see it because I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize as I am constantly bombarded with sales calls - I also did not see her voicemail. She did not communicate through the app or leave any indication at the house that this pump needed to be turned on. So we turned on the pump - it worked for all of 10 minutes before stopping. This was not fixed until later that day. Then, once the pump started working, there was no hot water. 2 in our group took cold showers. The next day the owner called us liars and that the water worked fine. We decided to check out 1 day early as a result as we wanted to take hot showers and didn’t want to deal with her.
