L'Aiguillon sur Mer marks the entrance to the Vendée department. Recognized for its Baie de l'Aiguillon nature reserve, which is integrated into the Marais poitevin, its port, whose mooring is on wooden booms, is worth a detour. It stretches along the Lay estuary. There are fishing huts where you can buy the catch of the day.

As for the beaches of Aiguillon sur Mer, the main and busiest is its body of water located in the city center next to the port. This is like a lake with sea water with sandy beaches on the side of the city center. The area is supervised in summer and it is on this body of water that we will find the most activity. Some wilder beaches are available towards Pointe de l'Aiguillon but these are not supervised. They offer a beautiful view of La Rochelle, the bridge and the Ile de Ré. Nearby, the large beaches of La Faute sur Mer are very pleasant (2 km).
