About this property

Caribbean Vistas; walk to beach or town

Located in the popular Bravos de Boston neighborhood, The ocean view is spectacular from this 3.5 bedroom, 3 bath home, overlooking the harbor of Isabel II, and across to the main island of Puerto Rico and the islands of St Thomas and Culebra.
Walk to the beach just below the house or sit on the open terrace in the morning and watch the fishing boats and ferries come and go, or catch an amazing sunset in the evening. Listen to the sound of the ocean and the coquis(and the occasional rooster). Enjoy the natural setting and private location. Banana plants, Lime bushes, Papaya trees and Bamboo next to the deck on the property.

On the Main Upper level and including the main living spaces, there is a kitchen and a master bedroom with a king bed and bathroom. Past the kitchen on the Main Upper Level are 2 smaller bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other a single twin (suitable mostly for children) that share a small bathroom

On the lower level, with a separate entrance, is a large bedroom with queen bed and en suite bath.

The home is perfect for an extended family with children, or two couples who like having their own suites. The kitchen is amply stocked, and we have contracted some recent upgrades to add to the comfort of your stay. Flat Screen Satellite TV, free wifi, new deck furniture to name a few, new windows and sliding doors, among other things!

It can fit up to 7 total with children. The 2 smaller bedrooms with 3 beds in the back, being suitable for children. We do not recommend more then 4 adults in the home to stay comfortably.

Fantastic view and very comfortable home for a long stay

This home is in a quiet spot with a 10 star view of the water, the port and the Vieques hills. One block above the water. Not a luxury home but well equipped, comfortable and new and very good beds and pillows. Couple minutes to Isabella and restaurants on the north side. 15 min to airport, 5 minutes to ferry . Lots of nature , iguanas and wild horses around!

Amazing views!!

Our group had 6 adults and the house was plenty big for all of us. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, the kitchen was well equipped. The views were amazing. The island was amazing. Best vacation ever!

Gorgeous views

Alma Vista treated our family really well. The house is not flashy but it is very comfortable and well stocked with beach gear and cooking necessities. Nice gas grill. The view from the porch is truly wonderful, and we spent many mornings sitting around in the lounge chairs or at the table, reading and chatting, and enjoying the relative peace and quiet (I did not know that Bravos could be a quiet neighborhood - the house is just a short walk in to town but it feels very private). I hope we get a chance to return.

Adequate, but needs attention

My family of 7 stayed in Casa Alma Vista in December 2018 for 8 nights. I'm not sure if part of our experience was due to hurricane recovery, but I expected a bit more comfort. That said, the stay at Alma Vista was adequate and the patio is absolutely divine. Vieques beaches are perfect. Pros: 1) The patio is fantastic. Nice, comfortable furniture. New grill. Terrific view and breezes. When we were at the house, we were on the patio. 2) Kitchen was stocked with nice dishware, pots/pans, utensils. 3) I expected the home to be small, but it was roomy and plenty for our family of 7. We had both the upper and lower units. 4) Jocelyn was responsive and provided good introductory/house information. She tried to help us in many ways beyond booking the house for our stay. 5) Beach chairs and snorkel equipment were new. 6) The island beaches . . . . amazing. 7) The island residents were helpful, friendly, fun, welcoming. Definitely ready for tourism. Cons: 1) The house was not marked in any way and the taxi drivers had no idea where it was. We had told the owners that we would meet Kikito at the house and call him if we had any issues, but finding the house was a challenge because there was no sign marking it's location. Calls to Kikito went unanswered as we were searching. (If you're going, Casa Isa does have a sign and is the same entrance.) 2) We were handed the keys by a non-English speaking woman and had no further contact with anyone on the island associated with the house. Kikito, the house caretaker and our supposed on-island contact, was off island every time we contacted him by text. We did have an issue with the shower that could not be resolved while we were there. 3) Furniture in the house is uncomfortable, outdated, and felt grimy. 4) Water was sporadic, although I believe this to be an island issue rather than a house issue. We didn't expect the problem and were alarmed the first time the faucets ran dry. It happened 3 times during our visit, but each time came back on within a few hours. 5) Sheets and beach towels were of very low quality. Sheets were full of pills. Towels were thin and old. 6) Weird minor issues all week like the water going off. We never did figure out how to turn on the oven. One night something in the second bathroom overflowed and flooded the bedroom next door. Sometimes grabbing the shower handle resulted in a significant hand-shock. Nothing to ruin our vacation, just oddities that could be frustrating.

Great place, great service!

We would definitely stay here again. It had all the amenities we needed for two adults and four kids. Lots of space, beach towels, and beautiful views. Kikito was a lifesaver-- our car rental company did not have car at airport as planned and even when Kikito drove us to their office they were not ready for us. He was so patient and made sure we had everything we needed - and then left us to enjoy our time. Be forewarned if you sleep downstairs you have a morning wake up each day to chickens-- part of the charm of this place.

👍👍👍👍👍

Pictures of the property are underwealming compared to the real thing! This was the 7 nth visit to the island and the best time yet. This was in part due to the comfy house affording us fantastic privacy . No problems with anything there . Kikito was the consummate property manager! 👍🏼

what a great house

We arrived, were met by Kikito, and drove to the house in our rental car. He responded quickly to any concerns we had.The view is magnificent. The house was perfect for us, and would have been great for 2 couples also. We snorkeled every day with our own gear at either green, blue or red beach and saw a meriad of fish. The water temp was refreshing and the temp outdoors was 86 every day. We ate at Coqui fire twice and had quite a few cocktails at Al's Mar Azul as it was just down the hill. The Sombero has great wine selection. We enjoyed fish tacos and rum bunches at Bananas after our morning swims. You will need a car unless you are used to walking up steep hills. There are horses that come to mow the lawn and a very friendly neighbor's dog that made himself at home on the porch. We will return next year to this house. I have been to Vieques several times and Casa Alma Vista is the best!

Best View

We were met by Kikito and followed him to the house. I had been to Vieques 4 other times. The view from Alma Vista literally takes your breath away. Nothing but water, the ferry and Puerto Rico in the background. The house had everything we needed for a perfect week. We ate out 1/2 the time. Coqui Fire is still my favorite. We also enjoyed fish tacos and rum punches at Bananas. Sunset cocktails at Al's Mar Azul on the deck or at Alma Vista were enjoyed daily. We fed the iguanas at Mamasonga's from our salads. The beaches are perfect for walking, especially Playa Grande. We snorkeled at blue, green and red beaches. You will need to bring your own equipment or rent from Black Beards. The horses came and mowed the grass several times and the neighbor's dog visited daily. Coqui frogs seemed so loud at first! I miss them now. Please rent a car! The hill to the house is steep, and there are so many beautiful beaches to visit. We plan on coming back next year to Alma Vista.

Perfect family vacation

Twice now I’ve stayed at Alma Vista with my family and friends. We all enjoyed this vacation rental enormously! The typically Caribbean style house is spacious, clean, comfortable, and just beautiful. You’ll find a well-organized kitchen, good laundry facilities, really comfortable beds and there’s even a fascinating assortment of good reading material. Best of all is the huge balcony with a panoramic view of the ocean through a flowering tropical mango grove. It’s breathtaking in the early morning light and perfect for the spectacular sunsets every evening. Alma Vista is right in the village of Isabella Segunda but surrounded by greenery we felt private and protected. The location is just right for easy walks to shops, restaurants and local beaches then it’s a quick drive to the spectacular big beaches on the other side of the island. The house manager, Kikito, knows everything you need to know or find in Vieques. He’s always available, helpful and very friendly. We loved everything about Alma Vista. I’m afraid it’s spoiled us for any other kind of vacation.

Panoramic view

Terrific place to vacation with 4 - 6 people. The view from the terrace is outstanding, the house is comfortable, spacious and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Small beach (also within walking distance) for those days when you don't feel like going to the usual beaches. Can't think of a better place to relax and enjoy Vieques.

Charming villa with amazing views

We stayed as 2 couples in this lovely home. Alma vista was well equipped with comfortable beds, lots of indoor and outdoor space and beautiful views from the large terrace. We ended up eating at home most evenings because there was no place better to be watching the sunset. The villa is well decorated and comfortable. The villa would be perfect for as many as 3 couples as there is a separate downstairs suite. The owners had provided lots of info to ensure our stay went well.

Incredible views and outstanding value

Six of us stayed at Alma Vista recently. We had stayed there a few years ago when it had different owners. This very well kept villa has exceptional privacy along with amazing views of the main island, Culebra, St Thomas, the Vieques lighthouse, the ferries coming in and going out. It has a roomy piazza where we ate most of our meals. We would have liked a gas BBQ but we cooked some great meals in the charcoal one. The new owners have added a tv, internet, painted inside and fixed everything up with new linens and kitchen gear. We love this little piece of paradise and will be back again this winter. We think the value of this property on Vieques is hard to beat!!

Alma Vista -great view and a real find

We have had an awesome stay. The house is everything that it says it is - well-located and comfortable with big sunny deck and great view on the prot and the water. Sunsets that had us taking pictures every night and privacy. The kitchen was all equipped, there were books, and wifi. The owners sent us lots of good info before we arrived, and the house manager Kikito met us and showed us around the house. We locked ourselves out and he came right over too. The nearest beach is about a 4 minute walk and we walked into town for sundowners and to see the people lining up in the morning for hot bread. We rented a Jeep and hit most of the beaches which are better than anywhere we've ever been. We'll be back and we will return to Alma Vista - this is a real find and very good value. We were only 2 people but it could have had 6-7 easily. We would recommend this.

Loved it!

We had a great time here - the house was spacious and comfortable and we loved to have our sundowners with the beautiful sunsets spread out for us to see from the big deck, where we spent a lot of time. There is a family of resident iguanas down the slope where the lawn stops and the trees and tall grass start - look for them in the afternoon. we went to the local beach swimming most mornings - 2 of us before breakfast, then often took the Jeep to blue beach. We also explored all the little roads - loved the one that goes across the island from near the mosquito pier. we will come back - we appreciated the reference books and the puzzles too.

great view, very good value

This was our first visit to Vieques. The owers sent out lots of info before our arrival and that was very helpful. Alma Vista's house manager met us at the ferry and took us to the house - we rented a jeep from him too, at a good rate. The house was large and comfortable for 3 couples and the deck was fabulous. Everything we needed in the kitchen, washer/dryer in the house very handy. We loved the sound of the coqui frogs at night, and even taped them. Blue beach was our favorite beach, and we also found very good snorkeling next to Mosquito Pier. One couple took an early morning swim and snorkel at the local beach every day. We all liked to walk into town in the evening and stroll like the locals... We hope to come back and would return to this house.

private, comfortable, wonderful viewf rom huge terrace

We spent 2 weeks in March here - the new owners have added wifi, TV, new kitchen appliances, and it was very comfortable for the 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 older children. We spent a lot of time on the terrace - breakfast, sundown (amazing sunsets, amazing view) evening meals and depending on when we went exploring, lots in between. We used the wifi on the terrace too. We loved the Vieques beaches and the little roads. Kitchen was well equipped, with a new stove and staples like spices and oil, which was great. There are some good reference books, and artwork all around, and it felt like a nice comfortable place to stay. We hope to come back.

Spacious, but needed updating

While this house was comfortable, it lacked certain items that I would have liked in a vacation home. There was no tv, dvd or internet access, which given the fact that there is not much to do at night in Vieques, was a drawback. There was no toaster, coffee maker was old and rusty, stove did not work well, and most pots were in bad condition. Otherwise the house was spacious and in a good location. We did not use the bedroom on the lower level, which flooded in the rain.
