About this property
Log Home on the Blackfoot River
With classic Montana views, lots of wildlife, plenty of acreage to stretch your legs, a quiet end of the road location, a gorgeous, very comfortable, well-maintained log home and an incredible amount of easy-to-access river frontage on one of the West's crown jewel rivers, the Blackfoot, we welcome you to our Blackfoot home. Equally appealing for a private getaway for couples or a perfect base location for families looking for an outdoor getaway, our fully furnished cabin checks every box. Comfortable accommodations? Yes. The perfect level of coziness mixed with function. The cabin is highly efficient with thick walls for fantastic temperature regulation. Plenty of windows provide tons of natural light and allow you to open it up for as much fresh air as you like. The cabin has incredible views out to the neighboring public lands and river views. Big couches and chairs allow you to relax and take it all in. A killer wrap around deck allows you to enjoy the epic down valley sunsets and welcoming beds will ensure a quality night's sleep so you can get after it the next day...or sleep in until you feel like getting up. Privacy and quiet location? Yes, located at the end of a private ranch road your neighbors will be deer, elk, coyotes, prairie dogs, sandhill cranes and other birds and the occasional bear. Room to stretch your legs? Yes, located on 35 acres you'll have grassy flats, sage and wildflower benches, pine and juniper groves, and gorgeous cottonwood stands...and the river. If you want to do more exploring, once you're within the high water mark of the Blackfoot's banks, legally you can wander for miles up or down the river bed. Is the river safe? Yes, but always exercise caution with water. The river is extremely accessible to adults and children provided children are accompanied by an adult. The river is braided out beautifully in this stretch and it makes for wonderful fishing spots, rock collecting, making mud pies, skipping stones, or just lounging in the sun listening to the current and cottonwood leaves. Please note, the river can go subsurface, that is, it "runs dry". In a typical year, this happens towards the end of August and is totally out of anyone's control other than Mother Nature. How far from town? As secluded and private as the property is, the town of Lincoln is only about a 7 minute drive away on a well maintained road. You might see elk, deer, cranes, geese and maybe a bear on your way to town. Bears? Yes. This section of the Blackfoot Valley in and around the Lincoln area is well known for its healthy grizzly bear population. While an encounter is unlikely, please bring bear spray if you go down to the river or for a hike in the nearby national forest.

This property is an amazing place to spend some quality time in the mountains and enjoy the comforts of a luxury home. Highly recommend this property and the great hospitality of the owner. Can’t wait to go back!
We loved the cabin and the area. The owner was super helpful in letting us know about fishing in the area. Easy access to the river and a nice quiet area.
This is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Unfortunately the river this time of year is dry, no water. But it was close to other fishing spots. The views of the mountains are splendid. The host was communicative and friendly and gave precise directions to the property. I would book this place afain if we go back to the Lincoln area.
It is a very nice cabin. Well kept, clean and in a beautiful area. Owner is very responsive and helped answer any questions promptly. We would definitely come back again.
Beautiful cabin on the Blackfoot River. Great access to fishing for the kids. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, then this is the place for you. The views and tranquility alone are worth the price!

Thanks Chris! Glad you and your family enjoyed your time there…it’s a special spot.
This was our second time staying at this cabin. We hope to make it a regular vacation spot. We really enjoyed just staying at the cabin the whole trip. Fishing at the river, sitting in the hot tub and just enjoying all the beautiful views the property has to offer. We went to Missoula one day. If you make it that way and like Italian I suggest checking out Romeo’s. So if you are looking for a private, secluded spot to just take in the mountain air and views then this is the place for you!
This was our 2nd stay at the cabin. We had a great time, just as we did 2 years ago. Spent mornings and evenings at the river. The wrap around deck is still wonderful to sit on and enjoy the peace and quiet. Hope to be able to visit again.

Chanell thank you. Time on the river is tough to beat but the deck in the evening is pretty wonderful! Thank you again.
The property is amazing. Fun fishing on site, peaceful, quiet - the perfect vacation getaway. Perfect location for a base to hit the Missouri, Helena, Missoula and fish up and down the Blackfoot. House is immaculate with amenities needed. Wrap around porch lets you enjoy the mornings and nights with beautiful scenery and views. Highly recommend this property.
All was as indicated in property description other than river being completely dry. Property manager had indicated this during check-in process on day preceding visit. It’s understood this cannot be controlled but disappointing as the location on Blackfoot River was a major reason for choosing this rental.

Thank you Scott. We hope the time with your family was wonderful. We can’t control the snowpack or the heat and dryness this summer has brought to the Rocky Mtn west. Some rivers are experiencing the lowest flows in recorded history. Thank you again.
I selfishly don't want to leave a review as this log home and location are so perfect and we want to come back in years to come. The home is beautiful and clean. The views and river are breathtaking . Our new favorite part of Montana. Thanks so much for wonderful memories!
