My daughter and I came here for a spring break trip and had a fantastic time! Home was exactly as described/pictured and location was close to beach, hikes, and restaurants. Host was helpful and highly responsive. Hoping to return again!
Stayed here for a girls weekend and it was wonderful! The location was perfect for visiting multiple areas along the coast. The layout of the house was great- we each got our own separate level and then the living area and porch were great for relaxing together. Couldn't have been better! Wende is excellent with communication as well. We plan to be back!
Our daughter and family had a wonderful time exploring the area. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed the upstairs bedroom, as they described as ‘sleeping in the forest.’ I would highly recommend this property!
This was a nice retreat at the end of each day to come home too and it really felt like we were in a tree house . The kitchen was well stocked and the home was perfect for our family and loved having the separate levels . Our host Wende was very attentive to our needs and questions and answered them right away . We would stay again ! Very close to the little town of Cambria and moonstone beach and trail systems . Beth and Curtis Santa Fe NM
Location feels remote but is close to the lodge & nursery. Nice views of canyon & sunsets. There is significant noise from the coast highway below. House very clean, well equipped. LOTS of stairs, so keep that in mind if that’s an issue. We brought our dog which was wonderful - but be vigilant - neighbor told us a mountain lion had recently taken down a deer just to the left of house (which is a very wooded area)if that’s an issue.
This place is very cute and charming. It has 3 levels, and beautiful views of the preserve. There is a little trail that down the street. Overall we felt cozy and comfortable but the upstairs room is a bit chilly and the living room furniture is not the most comfortable. If this place had a cushy couch or sectional for more people to sit comfortably then it would be 5/5!
This place was amazing! We love Cambria, it’s our escape from reality. And Wende’s place is our favorite so far. Three floors of beautifully setup house overlooking the magical Cambria woods. Wonderful decks on two of the floors and a beautiful scent garden which you enter from the bottom floor bedroom. So private and enchanting. The giant beautiful wind chimes gave the place even more magic. The kitchen was perfect and had everything. Entrance to Fiscalini preserve literally two houses away to lead you to the dog park and the town of Cambria. We did not want to leave and neither did our dogs. A bit of a hidden gem on a dirt road made it hard for our in-laws to bring the RV, but that gave us a great excuse to be further from them to enjoy ourselves! Kinda want to keep this one to ourselves, but had to review for Wende’s sake. Amazing. Thank you so much for being a wonderful host and sharing your parents place with us Wende. We shall return!
We really enjoyed our stay in this house. The house has lots of windows but because of where it is located it is also very private. I would highly recommend this house!
Good location and what we were looking for. Very peaceful sitting outside amongst the trees. Clean rustic interior which had everything we needed. Grocery store only 5 mins away. Need to be ok with stairs which we were.A very enjoyable stay.
House was very well set up with all the amenities a renter needs to make your stay enjoyable. Location rather deceiving as to how nice the place was compared to some of the surrounding residences. There is also a dirt road leading up to the residence. Be aware that you need to be able to navigate stairs from every level. However, the residence lived up to all expectations.
Our stay at this charming home was nothing short of delightful. The eclectic art and furnishings created a unique and inviting atmosphere, while the abundance of amenities made our stay comfortable.
The gem of this property was its tranquil setting. Every window offered views of nature. We felt completely secluded and rejuvenated during our stay.
Wende was an exceptional host. Her thorough communication ensured we had everything we needed, and she was always available to answer our questions.
Contrary to some reviews, we found the highway noise to be minimal. The home's location was high above the road with a some 400 foot distance. We didn't hear any noise in the home, but would if we were on the deck.
We would recommend this lovely forest retreat to anyone seeking a relaxing and unforgettable getaway.
The overall consensus of my family was that they would like to come back again. Its location is great if you like to visit different areas around Cambria. Its next to the freeway so you do hear a lot of the traffic noise but something we are used to.
My daughter and I and my two grandkids had a relaxing and enjoyable time in Cambria. Our house was cozy and met our needs. The boys had a blast and enjoyed the games that the house came with. We really enjoyed the family room.
This house is set up well for a family with older kids - the living space is on the middle floor with bedrooms above and below. All the amenities provided were well thought out for our needs. No a/c is needed in Cambria as the high temperature in August was only 60 degrees (F). Great location in the pines and a short drive to Moonstone Beach.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
I must admit. When we turned onto the street that leads to the house. And it turned a dirt road. My wife and I became very skeptical lol! We've vacationed in thus area several times and this was by farbthe best house. Amazingly stocked, everything was labeled and easy to find. Thank you!
Pros: great location surrounded by beautiful nature. Comfortable and well furnished house.
Cons: the house requires a bit of maintenance, including airing out a musty bedroom downstairs. Communication with the owner made us feel uneasy and unwelcomed on multiple occasions. They made it clear that they valued getting a high rating from the guests more than anything else, which meant their response to all hiccups with the house was to suggest us to find another accommodation and not leave a review.
We have traveled the world and stayed in numerous accommodations, so we understand different owners have different approaches to communicating with guests and we respect that. We also understand having unexpected issues during a stay is natural. None of the happenings during our stay would have been an issue for us, had the correspondence with the owner been more open, accommodating and productive.
Beautiful house in the trees. It's clear that the owners have put a lot of care into this home. Very comfortable furniture and it looks like the paint and main floors are new. There were a lot of extra touches that made it feel like a comfortable home such as cozy quilts in the living room, board games and guitars, and actually good quality knives and pots. It feels very private since it backs onto the nature preserve and we had a really nice hike on the trail.
