Felt like home for our Christmas holiday
We had a lovely stay here for two weeks over Christmas 2023! The host bent over backwards to make us feel at home, and we loved having plenty of space and a full kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped and well laid out, and we only went out to eat a few times during our stay — mostly we cooked for ourselves, including a full Christmas dinner. We were also delighted to use the backyard covered patio, which had comfortable sofas and a big table.
There is some ongoing construction (new homes being built) on the land behind the house. Based on how far along they are (not very), I suspect this will continue for a while. I was concerned this would be a noise issue, but actually it wasn’t, partially because the crews took a long break over the holiday (so I could spend a weekday afternoon reading on the patio in quiet) and partially because the house has double-paned windows that do a nice job of sound isolation.
We also had our small dog with us, so the fenced-in backyard was a big plus. The neighborhood doesn’t have sidewalks, so the dog’s twice daily walks took place in daylight just so there weren’t issues sharing the road with (rare) cars, and that also wasn’t a big deal. The neighbors were very friendly as well!
We had a great time and I would definitely recommend this house. We used it as a home base for visiting various things in the area, including driving into LA several times. It felt like a home away from home!
