Our experience was simply heavenly! From the cabin itself, to the beautiful ranch, to the quiet - and last but not least - to Deb the host, we can't think of the closest thing to a slice of heaven...
We stayed over the Fourth of July. We have family who own property in the area and wanted to be close to them so we could participate in those activities but still close enough to Billings and Laurel to participate in the parade, fireworks, and other holiday activities. The cabin was quiet, comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Deborah was easy to get ahold of and very polite.
The cabin was well stocked with all the essentials. The owner was great at providing suggestions for places to eat. Cabin is close to hiking trails, site seeing, and a great place to star gaze.
This is a cozy 2 bedroom cabin on a working ranch with a resident owner, Deb, in the main house. Deb very kindly loaned us a hiking guidebook and was a fine communicator. The house and kitchen are very well equipped. The house is 22 minutes drive from the Tippet Rise entrance.
Cabin was as advertised. Deb was great. There is little or no cell service but you can use the wifi if needed. After you get there you don't want anybody calling you, the views are spectacular. The fishing was good. We went to Red Lodge, Cody and Yellowstone NP from here. If you want to take kids fishing go to Wild Bill lake by Red Lodge lots of trout to catch.
Most beautiful view imaginable with some wonderful Montana history thrown in!thrown in
Historic cabin with a view that can’t be captured with a camera- although you can try…… Deborah has thought of every little detail to make this place near perfect. The only caveat- folks over 6’2 or so will have to duck through the doorways- a small inconvenience for so much beauty! We are so grateful for all the thoughtful extras. Fishing was amazing! Thanks for three perfect Montana summer days and some great storytelling about the history of the ranch.
This cozy cabin just outside of Fishtail, Montana had everything we needed in creature comforts as well as a lovely, quiet location on a working cattle ranch in the shadow of the Beartooth Mountains. With a great host and close proximity to classical music concerts at Tippet Rise, what more could you ask for? Great coffee you don't have to make - you can get that too at the Fishtail General Store, 5 minutes from the cabin. We fell in love with the cabin, the landscape, the people and the coffee. And seeing the cows grazing in the meadows was an added thrill for two city girls. I hope we can get back there again. It is the perfect location and the cabin is so comfortable with everything you need (including laundry!) to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Thank you to our gracious host!!
This is a cute little cabin. Perfect for a comfortable camping experience. All the staples to cook are available we brought food and prepared meals the cabin water has a strong sulfur smell and a water softener which I prefer not to drink or cook with. I had brought bottled water and used that so all was fine. Very clean and owner was available for anything we needed. If you are spending time to get away and relax this is the place I wish I had brought a music speaker and a couple board games not having a television was the best part but I think this would have been even better with games and music!
We stayed here on a visit to Tippet Rise Art Center, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We brought food and made our meals in the very well-appointed kitchen, and enjoyed listening to podcasts while we ate using the provided Bluetooth speaker. The shower was lovely, and the wall heater made the bathroom wonderfully warm and cozy in the mornings.
The mattress may be a little older, as every time my husband moved, I got jostled as well.
We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the area!
Perfect little cabin on a beautiful ranch property with fishing access to the stream on the ranch. Beautiful views of the Beartooth Mountains. We fished the Stillwater River and hiked Woodbine. This is a rural location; bring groceries! Perfect for what we were looking for in the foothills of the Beartooths.
This property has it all! Great access to hiking, fishing and local activities. There is a creek running through that provides great therapeutic sounds throughout the day. On my stay I was greeted with a welcome packet explaining in detail regarding the property and local resources. We had a very family friendly experience with easy access from the airport. I would recommend this cabin to other friends and family!
