Overbearing Host/Not as listed
The host is a poor communicator and unprofessional. She frequently gives vague information, doesn’t answer questions in a clear way, and talks negatively about other guests. Even though it was listed as self check-in, she saw my truck going through town, assumed it was me, followed me to the house, and without asking me if I was ok with it, gave me a tour of the house. I was very uncomfortable. In the week I was there, she visited the property all but one day. and that day her mom came. She entered the unit I was renting twice and her mom entered once. She did ask for permission, but I was just tired of my privacy being invaded so much. The other times, she just waved at me through the windows. The house has three units and is very loud. I could hear the upstairs tenants having normal conversations. There is a train track within 100yards as well. The apartment was listed as being stocked in the kitchen for cooking, but there were not normal, useful things in the kitchen. The trash can is located in the laundry room and not much cabinet space. Every closet and cabinet in the place was mostly full of unhelpful things, leaving no room for unpacking anything. Lamps were scarce. Some of the decor was even kinda creepy.
I was there for work and needed a quiet place for a month to get things done. I got the opposite of what I needed. To cap it all off, I injured my back and had to leave three plus weeks early. But, host said no refunds. Not shocking after my experience.
