Situated in a beautiful medieval village in the heart of the Mediterranean Cévennes, this house is known as ‘Le Château’ because it once belonged to the Lord of Anduze. For many years, it served as the summer residence of the Bishop of Nîmes. It is next to the community-run grocery shop, which is open four mornings a week and sells fresh bread (to be ordered two days in advance). Hiking trails lead out from the village, allowing you to explore breathtaking scenery. The village is situated near the Gorges de l’Hérault (swimming and canoeing) and the Gorges de la Vis. You can buy fruit and vegetables in the village (direct from the growers), and a small local market is held on Sundays. There is also a bar-restaurant and a semi-gourmet restaurant.
