Warm and cozy place
Cottage was unbelievable. It was a nice quiet birthday getaway for my girlfriend. Mitchell was easy to communicate with and the place was spotless. I would highly recommend staying here if you are a fan of the outdoors there is plenty to do within a short drive or walking distance

Why they chose this property

What makes The Cabin so special is its history. Known to many as 'Deer Haven', It has been passed down through my family since my grandparents purchased it in 1987, as a quiet family get away. However, it started its journey long before that, as a one-room schoolhouse sometime in the 1940's. As it passed from one owner to the next, from one use to the next, there's no doubt that countless memories have been made here.
As the building aged, and the world became busier around us, something was almost lost. While we still enjoyed spending time at the property, the poor old cabin fell into disrepair, to the point of becoming a nuisance at times.
As I grew older, hearing of the stories our family experienced here, it became apparent we had to do something. While reluctant in the beginning, we took the first steps back in 2017 to slow the degradation of the structure. Although a new roof and some cleaning seemed to go a long way, it was still very apparent that this was not the end.
After 3 more years, with a lot of free time on our hands, the line was drawn. In the early part of 2020, as the world slipped into uncertainty and tension, we decided to take the plunge. Over the next year, a transformation none of us could foresee became realty. After all the unwelcome surprises, late nights, and occasional arguments, The Cabin transformed into what it is today.
Looking back, there's no question it was all worth it. We hope just as many new memories are made as have been made here in the past. Whether you're family, friend, or complete stranger, we hope you too, can create memories that last your lifetime.
