About this property

The home is near popular west-side shopping/restaurants, IL State Fair Grounds, Knights Action Water park, and easy highway access. The house was completely remodeled in 2019 with lots of updates and modern touches! We especially love the brand-new kitchen, bike trail access from the yard, and quiet neighborhood. This was our family home, and we are excited to share it with you.

Welcome to Robinhood's Retreat in the popular Sherwood Subdivision on the west side of Springfield.

The living room includes two couches and a lazy boy recliner. The three bedrooms upstairs all have queen beds with closet space for storage. Two of the bedrooms have full size dressers. In the finished basement you'll find the spacious 4th bedroom with a full-size dresser. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, spices, olive oil, and a wide selection of teas. We’ve included fresh coffee and a coffee maker. You'll enjoy the extra deep sink with cutting board/drying rack and separate hot waterspout. In the backyard, you’ll find a relaxing patio with a dining table and gas grill. Direct and private access to the bike trail too!

The light gray and modern kitchen includes brand new Allen + Roth cabinetry, quartz countertops, lots of natural light, extra deep sink with hot water on demand, full-size appliances, and an eat-in dining table with seating for 6.

A coffee pot is provided for you to use along with fresh coffee provided.

The living room features a full-size couch, love seat and recliner chair, smart TV, charging station, and all-natural sunlight streaming through the front bay window. It's beautiful in the morning!

House Rules:
We have a strict policy of no pets, no parties, and no smoking of any kind. We have a 10-guest limit policy. Please note we do not currently allow hosting for non-registered guests. This includes family gatherings, reunions, dinner parties, etc. This is in a residential area, so we ask that you respect the neighbors' privacy in regards to these policies and noise and parking. Please drive slowly and do not block the neighbors' driveway.

If you break or damage something inside the home, you will be responsible for MISSING or DAMAGED item(s) at the replacement cost of the item(s). *Please reach out immediately if anything is broken or damaged* Transparency and communication are key in situations like this.

If any rules are broken you are subject to additional fees and immediate termination of your reservation. While we list several rules, your stay in our home is a top priority and we want you to enjoy your time here!

Perfect for family travel!

Angela & David have created a wonderful VRBO property there in Springfield! We were in town for a family celebration of life, but also had a couple of days to take in the Lincoln sites, such as his Presidential museum and library, home and tomb. Also toured the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Dana-Thomas home. The neighborhood is very quiet and serene and centrally located to everything you'd need for your trip. There are very nice stores nearby and all of the chain restaurants as well as a few highly recommended local haunts like Alexander's Steakhouse and Legacy Pointe Eatery next to Scheels' Sports store. You can tell the upstairs has been recently redone and they've been working on the downstairs with an added bathroom, which really came in handy. The kids would love downstairs because they'll have their own beds and access to a ping pong table! This is no doubt the best VRBO value in Springfield, so book it while you can! It fills up fast and we can see why now!

Clean and cozy

Short stay for a wedding. Home was very clean and cozy. Could have used a lamp, tv in bedroom or basement and extra coffee pot in basement due to having another family for privacy but not a big deal. Really liked everything.

WANDER INTO THIS COZY HOME!

This home is so cozy, clean, and well stocked. In town for a few days to visit family and staying here made me feel less like a visitor. The home is clean. Things are labeled. Everything worked. Hot water! Well thought out by the owners. The travel theme is sweet! Can't wait to come back and take advantage of the back patio. Quiet neighborhood. If this one is available - BOOK IT! Also, basement game room is great for the kiddos!

Our stay for my birthday weekend

This was a guys trip set up by my wife for my 60th birthday. Me and 3 best friends wanted to get together and go golfing and watch racing. House was perfect and comfy for the 4 of us! The owner was super responsive and communicated via text with me directly since my wife was not on the trip! Great house, nice spaces, clean area, great location!

Very Clean

We really enjoyed our stay here. The kids had a blast with the ping pong table. The adults enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable and clean upstairs as well as the quiet back porch area!

Why they chose this property

This home was completely remodeled in 2019 as our primary home. This isn't a normal rental property, and you'll notice a lot of upgrades! We love the hardwood floors, the kitchen and bath upgrades, and the neighborhood is one of the best in Springfield. You'll feel like you are in a small-town subdivision with friendly neighbors, quiet bike paths, and slower traffic yet you are located in the heart of the bustling city. It's pretty neat!
