This property has it all!
This property met our expectations and then some! On our approach we were pleasantly surprised with this delightful neighbourhood. A well-maintained street with quiet but friendly neighbours. A lovely green tree lined road which provided shade for our hire car during the August heat. Once inside the property there were lots of 'Wows' and 'Ahs' as we aquainted ourselves with what would be our home for 2 weeks. We were met with the cool from the airconditioning (outside was 30'C when we arrived at midday). Furnishings fitted the bill perfectly, the main living areas neutrally coloured and very clean. Wood floors and thick rugs complete the look. I was amazed at how well the kitchen was appointed with gadgets and plenty of cooking equipment: pots, pans, bowls and utensils. I managed to cook up quite a storm when we had our Canadian family for lunch. Outside there is a gas BBQ which works off the mains supply- what a brilliant idea, we haven't thought of that yet in the UK! Again, many a tasty dish was created on that grill. Downstairs, the cellar (basement) is under development. However we were able to use the beautiful hotel-style bathroom with huge power shower, although my concern is that damp may be a problem in the future. Would love to come back and see how the basement is converted. Upstairs is a haven for coolness during the hot summer with aircon in all 3 bedrooms and a fan at the top of the stairs. We found the aircon noisy as we Brits are not used to it so we turned it off for sleeping. The rooms remained cool until the morning. Furnishings again as seen in the pictures are spot on and well looked after. How lovely to find the cupboards in the main bathroom well stocked with quality toiletries, sun cream and a first aid kit. Towels are white and fluffy although a little small for our tall family. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have experienced while on holiday. Lots of novels and magazines can be found around the house with tips on what to do in Toronto. The position of the house was perfect. Far enough away from the bright lights to give us peace when we wanted it but only a 25 min bus and subway ride to the city. There are some fantastic shops, restaurants and bars only a 5 minute walk away including Loblaws the supermarket just round the corner (with a big carpark). There is a well cared for cemmetry at the end of Airdrie which was nice for a tranquil stroll or jog and gives access to more shops. A super place to reflect.
