Welcome to Alpine Daisy Chalet! This is a HAPPY PLACE for our family. We have made sooo many wonderful family memories in this home and at this resort, and we hope that you will too. We first discovered Wintergreen in 2001 when we were looking for a family getaway that wasn’t too far from our home in Northern Virginia. We borrowed a friend’s condo and made a reconnaissance trip with our infant and toddler and SWORE we would not look at any real estate! We were so taken with Wintergreen, we were homeowners within a week and have never looked back. Our daughter (now 23), took her first steps at Wintergreen. Our kids learned to ski at Wintergreen and made lifelong friends on the Wintergreen Ski Team. We have hosted family ski weekends, holiday celebrations, Girls Weekends, Guys Weekends, Book Club Retreats, etc. We are now at the point that our children are hosting their own Girls and Guys Weekends here! In 2007, we decided to further invest in our Wintergreen vacation home and we embarked on the process of custom-designing and building the home that is now known as Alpine Daisy Chalet. So why are we renting it? It was not an easy decision, but we are in an in-between stage in our family’s life where the kids are launched and pursuing their own interests and are not making regular trips to Wintergreen. Our fervent hope is that in the next 5-10 years, they will settle nearby and will bring their children here to learn to ski and the house will be in full family use again. But until then, we can share this beautiful home with you! Please let us know how we can make your stay memorable! We had a wish list for our home:  Gourmet kitchen with Wolf and Subzero appliances  Open kitchen/dining room/family room for maximum togetherness  Stone fireplace with roaring gas fire  Wooden beams and reclaimed pine ceilings and floors  Mud room for storing ski equipment dealing with wet boots and clothes  Bedrooms with their own baths  Kids’ lair with huge TV and wet bar  Window seats throughout  Huge hot tub I’m proud to say that we were able to include everything on our wish list and more! One of the reasons we love this home so much is that we designed and curated EVERYTHING in it with care and love for use as our family retreat.
