About this property

One of the finest houses in Scotland, this Dutch Colonial Mansion is situated at the end of a tranquil private lane equidistant between Edinburgh’s Old Town and the finest golf courses in the world. This is also one of the driest parts of Britain with an annual rainfall roughly half of the west coast. So the glorious day depicted in the photograph is not unusual! We are minutes from the glorious white beaches of Gullane and Beautiful villages teeming with boutiques and art galleries peppered along East Lothian’s distinctive volcanic coastline.

The Perfect House for Gathering with Family & Friends

This house could not have been more perfect. The master bedroom is what dreams are made of. The kitchen is the wonderful gathering spot whether you plan on ordering in or cooking up a meal. The bar/ lounge off of the kitchen is another great gathering spot and everyone in our group that liked to keep the drinks flowing hung out in there. If you have some people that need to work remotely, the formal living room was the perfect spot to shut the doors, get lots of sunshine, and make all your coworkers jealous. The yard is nice and spacious, with football (soccer) nets, a trampoline, and basketball hoop, plus a little fox that likes to lay in the sun. You’re close enough to Edinburgh that it’s easy to get into town via car or public transport, but far enough out that it’s a nice retreat from the city. Inveresk Village and Musselburgh are charming and wonderful to explore. Lots of restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance. To the Americans- the closest Tesco is the size of your typical American grocery store, and has everything you need. Check out the beach at sunset, it will take your breath away! Alistair was superb, and so easy to communicate with. Honestly the only downside of this house is we loved it so much we wished we could live there!

Wow! What an amazing house and amazing host!

Perfect stay! This house was exactly what we needed. Big, spacious, beautiful, fun. It had everything we needed. Our host Alistair was sensational. He gave us great restaurant recommendations. Was very helpful with everything we needed. Where to grocery shop, we to play golf, which car to rent etc etc. perfect host. We had a magnificent stay. Will definitely be back. Can’t recommend this house anymore!
