Nice place conveniently located. We used this as our stopping grounds while picking our daughter up from camp in Vermont. Was nicely stocked with plenty of super thoughtful items like k cups and the most loved, dog toy for the pups. Quick drive up to many of the popular hiking trails and towns.

We just reviewed the Yogi since my family stayed in that home while we stayed in the Dakota. Both places are fantastic! Everything you could need and want. Lake access was awesome. Our camp fire was really fun for the kids. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths really help with keeping the family happy. The nearby beach and proximity to Camp of the Woods was exactly what we needed. The host was great! We will definitely stay again!

Cute cabin in a perfect mountain location

The cabin is awesome, exactly as described. The town of Wells is amazing. If it were closer, I’d visit multiple times a year. Quiet, secluded but friendly neighbors nearby. Great hiking, many lakes, the main road is a fabulous backdrop for a morning walk.

We loved staying here! Coffee on the porch was the perfect start to our day, and kayaking to the beach was a perfect way to cool off after a day of hiking. The cabin was clean, had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning and John was easy to communicate with. We hope to be back soon!

Beautiful spot!

This was our family’s 5th staying here. We love it! The house is great, we love canoeing and kayaking to the town beach, the big yard, and campfires in the evening. If you’re lucky enough to get a clear night, the stars are incredible!

Relaxing Summer Get away

Clean, cool, everything we needed for a relaxing summer get away. This time we took a day trip to Lake George just about 1 hour drive. Lots of fun! We hope to come back.

Thanks again John for letting us share a wonderful weekend in the Dakota We hiked two days at Auger falls it was fun made a bonfire which was fun Met your groundskeeper George we talked for a while. He’s a very nice man Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area etc. I enjoyed our talk. He was working on the cabin next door. You picked a good guy for the job. Looking forward to booking again maybe take kayak out next time. John Mchale

Awesome! Thankful to have found it!

Our family needed a second cabin to house all of the people who were able to make the trip. The Dakota was perfect! Spacious, clean, all the amenities, and more! The hosts were excellent communicators with my many messages before our stay and were very gracious. We will definitely hope to stay here again!

Great cabin, nice and clean! The owner. John was great to deal with! Very responsive! We really loved the location too! It was about 4 miles from the Sacandaga State Park campground. Although the park aas closed for camping, we took a nice walk through the park. Really beautiful!!

Our recent visit to this property was fantastic. The property was clean and very inviting. Everything we needed was there and the area was great for some easy hiking and enjoying the fall colors. We are already planning next years trip which will definitely be for a longer stay.
