We had a very nice stay at this property. The views were absolutely stunning and the ambience and quiet were just what we were looking for. The outdoor sitting area overlooking the view was outstanding. We had some issues with the lights not working in the main bedroom, trouble using the shower in the main bedroom and that the pool is only heated with additional payment. Despite that we still used the pool and very much enjoyed the hot tub and other amenities that came with the house. Overall was a good experience.

Nice place but….
It’s a nice house with a nice layout for a large family or group. I’ve never given a negative review, however, there’s quite a few things that weren’t so great for the price paid. A very generic entry code was given to us, which didn’t make us feel very safe especially since once inside we found two doors that were unlocked. The handle on one door just came off in my hand and another door had no handle at all. We looked all over and were unable to find any sort of house book - no instructions on how to operate anything, what all the numerous light switches were for or what was expected of us upon leaving. The house is also in need of many small repairs. Pool had quite a few dead frogs and do not wear silver jewelry in the hot tub as it’s heavy on the chemicals and tarnished my bracelets (which has never happened before)
Pros: The beds were comfortable, lots of space inside and outside, nice view. Too cold to swim, didn’t use TV, WiFi or pool table. Host was easy to communicate with.
Potentially Dangerous Property
Content: We recently stayed at this property and feel the need to warn the community about a life-threatening circumstance we encountered. During a storm on a Friday evening, the power went out. (We understand this commonly occurs in this area.) The house's generator kicked in. A few hours later, the carbon monoxide alarm went off. We immediately evacuated the house and called the fire department. The fire department arrived and recorded dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide throughout the house, including in the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms, and barred us from returning to the property. We were told by a fireman that the generator was installed too close to the house and carbon monoxide was therefore infiltrating the property. We informed the owner, who at first denied that this was possible, and then later, after speaking with the fire department, somehow blamed us for the circumstances. The owner also refused to compensate us for the time we could not stay in the house due to these conditions. This is obviously disappointing -- but this is also extremely dangerous for others who are thinking of renting this property. If you are considering renting this house, please contact the owner first to make sure she has relocated the generator at least 15 feet from the house. This could happen again -- possibly late at night when you may not hear the carbon monoxide alarm -- with terrible consequences to you and your family
The house was clean and spacious, with a gorgeous view. We only stayed one night and really wish we had more time to enjoy the house. It's also a great location for exploring Minnewaska State Par (~30 min away). My only minor complaint is that the kitchen is lacking some cookware, so I would think twice if you are thinking of cooking large meals here. It's also located in Ellenville, not Wawarsing Otherwise, we would highly recommend this hidden gem tucked away in the Catskills..
