About this property

Treehouse Glamping 2 bordering GSMNP, Off-Grid

A private, gated gravel driveway leads to our Off-Grid Camp House situated on mountaintop acreage bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cherokee National Forest. The pet-friendly Camp House is equipped with solar power and private, indoor composting toilet.

Rest from your adventures on the comfy queen/full-size beds, cook meals in your covered, outdoor kitchenette, dine al fresco in the trees, take a heated shower from the rain-collection system, and recharge your devices via the charging station (USB).

The property is remote and protected from the noise and lights of the city. Similar to cabin rentals, bring your belongings, cooler of food, and adventure gear. We provide most cooking essentials, dishware, bed linens, towels, soap, and toilet paper. The kitchenette has potable water and hand basin, a two-burner propane stove, separate propane grill and dining for four. All propane is supplied. There is no refrigerator, bring your own ice cooler.

Other things to note
-> Space is PET-FRIENDLY, $10 fee. Please pick up after pets!
-> Firewood is available onsite for $10 donation to local Appalachian Bear Rescue.

There is cellular service on the property. The higher you are, the stronger the signal. AT&T works the best, Verizon is great.

No RVs, campers, or vehicles with trailers. There is a neighbor who uses the driveway on occasion. All property on the other/west side of the drive in his. You might see him with his 2 dogs.

Fantastic!
The Treehouse was super clean and had all the amenities of glamping; solar lighting, propane for heating food and shower water, even a fire pit to enjoy an evening under the stars. I could appreciate the compost toilet (not one bit offensive, and very environmental), and the rainwater shower (heated with on-demand water heater). It was so quiet and enjoyable. I would recommend to all but especially those who may not want to tent camp. It was the highlight of our roadtrip!

Peaceful glamping eperience near gsmnp
It is worth a short winding drive on gravel roadway to the treehouse near hartford tn. This one room and covered porch within the tree canopy is complete with everything you need for camping experience without the need to pack it all on your trip. It has the added guarantee of dry roof overhead after a day in the park. The hosts have put a lot of thought into the accomodations which were clean and organized. They regularly kept us supplied with water and other basic necessities while respecting our privacy. The location is near the AT and other beautiful spots in the smokies. Away from the crowds and traffic of gatlinburg and other popular tourist locations in the area. We enjoyed our weeklong stay and reccomend it for those coming to the park to experience the beauty and peace of the natural surroundings.

About the host

Hosted by Brenna

Host profile image
My name is Brenna and I have lived in the mountains with my husband since 1996. We became vacation rental owners quite by accident. We built a camp-style treehouse to escape for relaxation. We loved it, our families loved it, our friends loved it. We knew we should share it with you & yours. When not caring for the treehouses or working our regular full-time jobs with the commercial whitewater rafting companies, we are out hiking or paddling. I am an avid runner & swimmer and I love food. Anthony is a jack of everything and loves his motorcycle. And we both adore our terrier-mix Roxy.

Why they chose this property

The treehouse was built by hand by a nature-loving husband/wife team. A long history of camping and working in the outdoor recreation industry provided inspiration for the blueprint of the treehouse. Your hosts, Brenna & Anthony, created a design to intentionally interact with nature. By utilizing rain collection, solar power generation, composting toiletries, outdoor cooking, the treehouse is completely Off-Grid.

What makes this property unique

This is an area of Leave No Trace mentality and simpler living. A healthy wildlife population abounds and zero city lights are visible. The motivation behind the Camp House is to share with the public an alternative nature-based vacation inspired by conservation with minimal impact.
