Great vacation!
We were very pleased with this place! Perfect for our family of 13, ages 7 to 72. Lovely house, fresh paint and flooring, new stove & refrigerator. Light, airy "Great Room" with enough seating, comfortable furniture and pretty beach decor. The kitchen was very well stocked. I had taken a crockpot and griddle along, but everything else was there. Fast wi-fi, great TV, and everything was very clean. Enough beds for 11;, took 2 mats for the youngest kids, so we didn't have to put the sleep sofa away every day. Husband & I stayed in 1st floor apartment which was quiet when we needed it. Also good to have a 2nd frig. Wonderful pool and hot tub with nice poolside furniture. The kids loved walking to the large pond nearby to see the turtles & egrets. Walk to beach was easy & took about 15 minutes for this grandma, but less for the others. House located 5-15 minute drive to a variety of stores and restaurants, the 4x4 beach with wild horses, and the Currituck Light. The people at Seaside were prompt, courteous, and helpful with questions. We took advantage of the rental equipment and got 2 carts & 2 boogie boards. You do have to take stairs over the dunes, so you need 2 people to carry the carts up, or leave at bottom and carry your beach gear. It was also fun going to the beach in the evening to swim and look for ghost crabs running all over the beach at dusk. Take flashlights! We all got to climb the lighthouse and see amazing views. Took our bikes and rode great bike trails

Safety hazard
This house had numerous safety hazards. Electrical outlets on floor were uncovered and some of them that were on walls were just hanging with exposed wire. My 5 year old grandson almost fell 3 stories because there is a sliding glass door in kitchen without any deck. There were no warnings or any type of restraint in place to keep the door from being opened. We had to stack water and soda cases in front of it. There was a section of railing on the third floor balcony ready to fall off. The house showed an air hockey table but it was broken and wiring was a fire/shock hazard. Part of my family was secluded because the bottom level does not connect to main area. You had to go outside of house to reach main areas. The place was filthy. The stovetop was broken and we couldn’t cook anything. We made rental agency aware and they never contacted us until we were on our way home 6 days later. They never once reached out to offer us a hot plate or some alternative means to cook. We spent a thousand dollars on food and had to waste a lot of it because we couldn’t cook. We had to go out to eat everyday which was an expense we didnt expect. The rental agency is blaming us for the broken stovetop and want us to replace it, which I would gladly do IF I or anyone else in my family would’ve actually broke it but we did not. The first time we tried to use stove my mother attempted to wipe it off because it looked like there was a line of dirt on it and sliced her thumb open. Horrible time!!

Disappointing Thanksgiving Stay
When we first arrived, I picked up garbage around the property and then needed to tidy up the pool area (broken pool furniture laying about), although we did not use the pool due to the time of the year. The pool is in front of the house and everyone who comes to the house walks by the pool when going in the front door. There was no "starter pack" or welcome kit, anywhere. Nothing. The interior furniture is in very poor repair. Three beds were broken. Could not check-in until 5 PM and all linens were tightly wrapped in Saran Wrap, thrown in the bedrooms, no beds were made, towels and bath linens were threadbare. Lighting on the main floor and kitchen was very poor - there were spotlights in corners, but no central lighting for kitchen or dining. Several of the pots and pans were broken (no handle or broken handles), the can opener was also broken, pots with no tops, or tops with missing pots.... We purchased kitchen equipment in order to cook the Thanksgiving meal. House also had an insect problem - spiders and roaches. We rented from Sunday to Sunday and left Friday morning, due to the condition of the property. This property is managed by Seaside Vacations, a rental company in the area - not the homeowner. I would not use Seaside Vacations for any rental after this experience; however, when I booked this property on VRBO, I was unaware it was managed by a rental company and not an owner.
