About this property
The Cottage in Grovetown - 4 Bedroom Southern Retreat
Welcome to our southern, cottage-style home—beautifully decorated with a tasteful mix of new, vintage and antique furnishings/artwork. Located very near nice walking trails in a lovely, quiet neighborhood just minutes from grocery stores, dining and I-20 (with easy access to Fort Gordon, Downtown Augusta and the National Golf Course). The perfect southern retreat for the Masters or whatever brings you to the Garden City area!
The front door opens into an entryway with a built-in hall tree where you can slip off your shoes and/or jacket and make yourself at home. The open-concept living space has high ceilings, rustic details, large antique artwork and plenty of seating around a decorative fireplace with herringbone tile and built-in benches. The set of drawers under antique mirror is filled with fun board games and challenging puzzles.
The spacious kitchen/dining area have room for 6 at an extra-large, granite island and 4 more at a round, antique table surrounded by wainscoting, sunshine-filled windows and an old crystal chandelier. There is also a laundry room off of the dining area with a full-sized washer and dryer (stocked with detergent). A small, comfortably furnished, back patio (off of the kitchen) steps down to a larger area with decorative stone pavers. The area leads to a pergola with two hanging hammock chairs, a swing and nostalgic string lighting that flickers on as the sun sets. There is a wood fire pit (wood can typically be purchased at the nearby grocery store), and there is also a swing set for children, a small grassy area and a few winding flower beds.
Back in the house, you can visit with friends or unwind in front of a beautifully framed HD TV (there are no TVs in the bedrooms).
The one-story home has four thoughtfully decorated bedrooms and two full baths. The primary suite features a bead-board ceiling, a walk-in closet, a comfortable king-sized bed (with a down comforter and down pillows) and a bathroom with a leathered, granite-topped, double-sink vanity, a large soaking tub, a shower and plenty of bath towels. Second full bath has a handheld shower head, a handicapped bar and a small shower bench.
The cottage-style home is located on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood. There is a large backyard and parking for 2 to possibly 3 cars in driveway depending on the size of the vehicle—street parking is unfortunately not permitted and parking along street overnight will result in fines and possible towing at owner's expense. Neighborhood playground is walking distance and great, nature trails are a quick walk down the street in either direction.
For your convenience, there is a pack n' play and an infant carseat (in one of the bedroom closets), a booster chair with tray (in kitchen island), and a few toys/books for families traveling with young kids.
We want you to have a comfortable, worry-free stay, so we provide:
High-speed Internet (master bed/bath are a little slow)
Parking (in driveway only, parking on street overnight is not permitted)
Washer and Dryer (with detergent)
Iron and Ironing Mat (mat can be placed directly on kitchen island)
Pots/pans, utensils, dishes, silverware
Coffee Maker
Typical small appliances (toaster, microwave, etc.)
Salt, pepper, cooking oil
Selection of Board Games / Puzzles
All typical household Amenities
Porch and outdoor seating
Pack n' play
Infant carseat
Booster chair w/ tray
A few toys / books for children
Minutes to walking trails, grocery stores, restaurants, highway and more!
