Rusty's Cottage is named after my father and is a very special place in my heart. This small one bedroom house is located in Post City Texas, named after C.W. Post, who was an American Pioneer in the food industry. Post Corn Flakes, Post Raisin ,Brand and many more. The Top Attractions of Post, OS Ranch Museum, Garza Historical Museum, Ragtown Theater, and Post Trade Days, this market place opens it's doors , second weekend of each month. The space Rusty's Cottage was designed and created about a year after my father passed away. His name was Ralph, but everyone called him Rusty, he was a very special man and everyone in Post knew him. My mother and I decided to put in a Honeymoon Romantic Get-a-Way in this small rock house directly behind her home, and we worked under the Umbrella of the Garza Hotel here in Post. Our cottage was a big success and rented for $165.00 per night. After 911, we ended up closing our small business down and it then became empty for months. I have now reopened Rusty's Cottage and I am in hopes that others enjoy it's beauty as much as we do. Guest access Rusty's Cottage is a small one bedroom house, located in the middle of the block, between 11th st. and 12th st. on Ave L. The large 2 story house on 11th and L belongs to my mother who owns Rusty's. There is a fenced in side yard, with a Wooden Pergola and outside furniture, plus a fire pit. We have added a back area for your furry family member, it's in side yard the opening use to have a gate onbit, but now its a yard for your pet. It has a motion light. This way your pet doesn't have to go out in the front yard.
Other things to note Post City Texas has a main street with a few unique dress shops and other special gift shops. There is a new Christmas Store (mine) and it is located on 12th and Hwy. 84. the name of my shop is "Santa's Hares & Bears and I am opened on Thursday 11-6, please come and see me and my Handmade Santa's. There is a wonderful Coffee shop on 84 o is called "Coffee Wizards" and a new Ice Cream shop on downtown Main street, behind the McDonald's on the corner. Please enjoy our small town while you are passing through.
Fisherman and Hunters are welcome to stay at my Cozy Cottage, only a few miles from White River Lake and Lake Allen Henry where you can find great outdoor fun. Lots of Wonderful gift stores in our little town and a Great Drive in, Holly's, with the old fashion car hops, and George's Restaurant with wonderful, tasty foods you just can't beat it.

The kitchen was excellent for preparing meals. The private outdoor space was excellent. It’s a cozy place for an escape from a busy life to just enjoy the peace and quiet for a few days.
Thank you for your GREAT REVIEW, I appreciate you, thank you again for choosing my Cottage for your stay and Please come again if you are ever in the Post area. GOD BLESS
Such a romantic cottage! I found myself wishing I had booked an extra night just to relax in the garden. Great communication with Theresa, and dog beds were carefully laid out for my 4-legged traveling companions. I highly recommend!
Great little place to stay in Post. Host is amazing and the town has a lot to offer. Highly recommended. Not sure why VRBO asked about skiing, I have 5 stars for asking but there are not any ski areas close by.

Thank you so much for your GREAT REVIEW, PLEASE COME AGAIN IF YOU'RE EVER IN THE POST AREA.
Great pet friendly stay. Kitchen and bathroom were well stocked, and the pet area outside was secure and there was no worry about our dog getting out. Bed was a nice big size, with plenty of blankets and pillows. Overall it was comfortable, but it did have a slight dip to the middle, though it didn’t affect our rest. Overall a great place to stay, especially when traveling with a pet.
Owner was very communicable. Everything was great about our stay. The bed was super comfy! I was thankful for the extra toiletries available as I didnt realize on booking it was bathtub only. I would still stay again. This home was clean, cozy and beautiful! Great location too.
Yes, the host was fine. We enjoyed the little, cozy place with its Victorian furnishings and we had everything we needed including the nice fenced backyard where Beau our dog could play soccer with his basketball. The house was comfortable and the large, high bed felt good. It is a very decent, nice place to stay in that very small town. We enjoyed our time there and were happy we'd discovered this little sweet home.

About the host
Hosted by Theresa Doggett
My name is Theresa Doggett, I go by Teri, my husband's name is Lee. We have 2 grown sons; they live here in this small Post City Town of Texas. My husband is Retired Navy and well, guess I'm supposed to be retired also, but just can't get to that point in my life. We have 2 Airbnb's located here in Post City Texas, Rusty's Cottage and the other is, The Cozy Cottage. I also own 3 rental properties and a Gift Store called Hare's and Bear's, Gifts and Antiques, located just around the corner of 12th and Highway 84. I am a Caregiver for my 96 yr. old mother, she owns the Rusty's Cottage that sets behind her home. Rusty's Cottage was named after my dad, dad passed away over 20 yrs. ago. Rusty's used to be a Bed and Breakfast that was connected with the Garza Bed and Breakfast here in Post area. We were their Honeymoon suite for many years then found our way into the family of Airbnb owners.
Why they chose this property
The Cottage is an old rock home built back in the 70's, it is one bedroom home with kitchen, living room and a bedroom and bathroom. There is also a side yard with a covered Pergola. The property is located right behind my mother's 2 story home, her back yard is located directly behind the Cottage. Rusty's is walking distance to the local United supermarket and 3 blocks from downtown Post City. Post is a small town with lots of wonderful residents and lots of great shopping mom and pop stores.
