A modern house that is a perfect getaway from home. Provides excellent space, views, and activities to entertain everyone in your family. Located near the famous Shanghai Marina on Norris Lake. You can literally walk to the marina. However, you can’t launch your boat at Shanghai, only at the public launch near the marina. The house does come with a private dock to dock your boat and swim.

Should be a 5, but Needs Some Fixes

Great property in a great location next to Shanghai marina. Very modern with a great layout. There were a number of small/medium issues that the owner can address to make this place a 5. 1. Maintenance: the upstairs bathroom vanity light does not work, there were bulbs missing from kitchen light fixtures, upstairs doors were difficult to open and close. The dining room chair cushions were not attached and drawers in master had no drawer pulls. 2. The dock: there is a 3-4ft drop from the last step to the dock which presented problems loading and unloading the boat. My daughter and wife needed help up and down. The dock should have proper cleats/tie-offs. Rope/ratchet straps were not sufficient so I just parked my rental boat at Shanghai every night. 3. No privacy: The bedrooms have great windows to see the lake and the sky BUT there are no blinds or any sort of privacy barrier. The positioning of the windows means that you can see into one bedroom from the other bedroom with no options other than to move to one side of the room to change. Again - this is a nice/modern lake cottage. With some minor updates this should be a 5. I'd check with the owner before booking to see what updates have been made.

Great stay!

The property is newer and very clean! Modern decor. Geeat cove of the lake behind Shanghai Resort. Great response from owner as to an easy air conditioner fix due to extremely hot weather. Will definitely stay there again! Lovely!

Beautiful home in a quiet cove

This house is beautiful. It is set up high and you can see the quiet cove down below. There is a dock that we tied our boat up to every night. You have to put your boat in at the public boat launch though which was a bit inconvenient. The closest one is close by water but far by car, or there is one close by car and far by water. So plan ahead for that if you are bringing a boat. The drive and walk down to the dock are VERY steep. So do not attempt to bring a boat or trailer to the house by road. The home is very beautiful and was very well stocked (other than a can opener which we told the owners about and they said they will get on that right away). You can tell that it is newer home..so new that there are no window coverings as of yet. So if you aren't an early riser, I would recommend bringing an eye mark because the rooms get bright early with the sun. But the view from the windows was well worth it. There is a beautiful upper deck overlooking the cove as well. Both bedrooms open up to the deck. The location is very close to Shanghai resort which was fun to go for food and drinks and boat gas every morning. The quiet cove was super fun to float and swim in too! The water is so warm. It is right by some floating houses so it's in a no wake zone. This lake was new to us and very big! It took us a bit to figure out where to go to do the activities that we like to do. Grab a map at Shanghai. It's very helpful because you lose phone service on the lake quite often.

Great house

This is perfect location, right by Shanghai. House is really cute. Owner does need to fix a few things to the home (oven/stove didn't work, no vanity light in master bath, bedrooms need curtains/blinds for privacy) House came with all necessities which was nice. We took our golf cart to make travel to the marina easier. Very steep driveway. I'd refer this home to anyone, and would stay again.
