A relaxing vacation awaits in the charming town of Saugatuck at this ground-floor studio getaway – perfect for a small family or couple’s retreat. Inside, you’ll find an open layout and lots of color. The large kitchenette features a mini-fridge, oven, microwave, and coffeemaker, along with plenty of room to prepare simple meals and snacks. Grab a barstool when it’s time to eat, or step outside to the patio table and dine alfresco.

When it’s time to explore, downtown Saugatuck’s shops, art galleries, and restaurants are only a little over half a mile away, and the beach beckons just three miles to the west. When you return, relax on the sectional and watch a little TV or post the day’s pics to social media, courtesy of the free WiFi. At bedtime, the couch converts to a double sofa bed, or pop out the Murphy bed for more sleeping options.

Do not stay here. Unit 10 - Canary Condo

We booked a 4 day/3 night stay. As soon as we opened the door to the unit, the smell smacked us in the face. It smelled like the A/C had been on for months without property ventilation allowing humidity build up/strong, strong smell of mildew/mold. Everything in the unit was damp - the couch, the linens, the bed, the rugs, the towels, everything. It all wreaked of mildew. Assuming it was going to dry out and excited to have arrived in Saugatuck, we opted to open the windows, turn on the ceiling fan and dry/air the place out. As I went to put our newly purchase food in the fridge, I noticed that the fridge did not work. Within 15 minutes of getting the 'welcome' email from Vacasa, I alerted them that the fridge was out, the AC was sketchy/mildewy and that the place was not clean. I got an auto response back. Knowing that it was Saturday, I let it slide and created a mini, makeshift cooler for the night (with ice), believing I would get a knock at the door or, at a minimum, a response with a plan of action. Nothing. Reached out again on Sunday, still getting auto responses. I also alerted them that one of the sleeping spaces they offered (a pull out bed) was broken and not usable. At one point, they responded, apologizing for my inconvenience and offered to let us use the pool at a different unit. After telling my daughter about the pool and putting the address in my phone to guide us there, we realized that the address...and the pool were both in North Carolina. We were in Saugatuck, Michigan. I'm perplexed at this point. This nightmare continued and we tried to make the best of it but finally had to toss the food, pack up and find a new place to stay. We are not fancy people...we just wanted a clean, solid place to sleep and a working fridge. Saugatuck gets a 10 out of 10 Arrowhead gets a 1 out of 10
