This is an older hotel property, and has the layout you might expect. Not luxurious, but very clean and ideal for our purposes of exploring downtown Asheville for the weekend! We were on the 5th floor, and liked how we could take the stairs or elevator to easily get up and down. Front desk was friendly and efficient. We will stay here again!
I've stayed at the downtown inn twice now, and although it is simple and no-frills, its location in the heart of downtown more than makes up for that. It's hard to find a better monetary value for a room anywhere in Asheville, let alone this close to the thick of things.
We were looking for something close to the downtown area where we were seeing a show. This hotel was perfect! Walking into the room brought me back to my childhood roadtrips. The room was clean and cozy. The hotel has some aging and could use some TLC but it was perfect for our one night stay.
It was honestly a really great stay. The weekend was beautiful and we had a mountain facing room which made it even better. So much is within walking distance, it’s a very walkable city. The staff was friendly and patient and we had no problems. The elevator was a bit odd, but outside of that it was a wonderful place. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great location for walking around town
Location is perfect for walking through Asheville and to RAD. Building is so old and in desperate need of upgrades. Don’t think we will stay there again.

Fantastic location in downtown, great staff, nice room. The only downside is very limited parking at hotel. They have offsite parking very close but is very confusing if it’s your first time there.

Great location right downtown and walkable distance to everything. Parking was free which was a bonus to not have to drive around downtown.
The hotel is old and very basic, don't expect any updates. You get what you pay for. However, the room wa clean and we experienced no issues and the check in staff was friendly.
If you're looking for a short stay that's convenient to downtown it's a good budget option.
It is an older motel but they are doing renovations. Our room had not been renovated but very clean, everything worked. It's a great location in downtown and we slept just fine.
This was the only hotel available in Asheville at the time due to the rest being occupied by people displaced by the storm and workers cleaning up after the hurricane. Positives: central location; relatively quiet, room was basically clean. Negatives: the property is a mess, the pictures make the place look a lot nicer than it is; questionable characters hanging around; parking lot dirty and difficult to navigate; poor lighting; littered premises. If you need a basic place to stay it will do in a pinch but if you have a choice, stay elsewhere.

Street noise between 10:00 pm and midnight was pretty bad. Had we known we would have requested a room on the pool side. Location and parking were outstanding! Price was good compared to other downtown locations.

Disaster
Couldn't reach. Never came. Hurricane Helene. VRBO zero assistance with the situation. I want my money back.
The hotel was very old. I've seen reviews about renovations, but i didn't see any. It was clean enough and the staff was friendly. The hotel was extremely conveniently located. If you're looking for beautiful and shiny, this isn't your place, but if you're looking for convenience and a good price you've found it!
