About this property

Littlefield Bungalow Suite

ABOUT THE PROPERTY
Come and relax in your own private, recently updated retreat in San Miguel! Downtown Paso Robles is only a short 10 minute drive where there are wonderful restaurants and shopping. There is an abundance of world-class wineries just a short drive away.

For those interested in larger gatherings (6-9 people, depending how close you want to be!) this home is adjacent to a second Airbnb on the same lot which has a separate entrance and driveway and is available to rent for an additional fee. See "1890 Littlefield Victorian Retreat" or message host for more information. The backyard is divided so each house has privacy but also provides convenient access for larger groups.

ABOUT THE SPACE
This spacious one bedroom home-away-from-home has everything you need to make the most of your time in this historic region of Central California.

The bedroom has a plush queen size bed with a large closet, and en-suite full bathroom with a bathtub that offers guests the chance to relax in a soothing bubble bath and unwind.

The generous size living room has a sofa bed that pulls out into a queen size bed for extra guests. Comforts include air conditioning, free Wifi, a television in the living room, and a kitchen with oven, microwave, refrigerator, and basic cooking and dining implements such as pots, pans, dishes and glassware. There is a small bar height table for two for indoor eating and there is a four person patio table with an umbrella for outside enjoyment.

You'll find a range of games in the living room or head outside and spend your time relaxing in your private patio area and enjoy beanbag toss games, or just sip a glass of wine, enjoy your coffee or even have dinner on the patio.

The location includes a large parking space with private entry.

PETS WELCOME
We love pets! Bring your fur family members! Please be mindful that all dogs must be on a leash when they are outside the home, including the patio area. The yard dividers have spaces that dogs can easily scurry under, and all animals (dogs especially) must be monitored and must stay in the designated yard. There is a lovely city park just across the street with a large green space and shaded picnic areas. And please, clean up after all pets, and then dispose of waste in a proper receptacle.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Littlefield Victorian is located in a peaceful, small-town neighborhood with roosters, goats and many birds making there homes here. You may also hear music from the local park, which is across the street, as it does host events at times. The park also has a public swimming pool. Please verify that it is open and the hours before planning to use it.

California’s second oldest bar, the Elkhorn, is a two block walk. In 1869 and 1870, the notorious outlaw Jesse James, and his brother Frank, frequented this bar while Jesse recovered from a gunshot wound at the nearby Drury James ranch, which was owned by a family member. Also within walking distance is the historic San Miguel Mission, founded in 1797.

There are some really great eating places that are a short walk away including Taco Mafia, Manny’s Pizza and Leo’s Cafe. There is also a Dollar General store for any last minute items you may need.

The residence is conveniently located a just off the 101 freeway. It is a short 10 minute drive to downtown Paso Robles. Multiple wine tour roads to many world-class wineries begin a short distance away. Cambria, the gateway to Hearst Castle, can be reached in under 35 minutes (depending on traffic and time of day.)

Work/play stay
Enjoyed the stay, check in/out was super easy. Room had everything we needed for the short amount of time we spent inside. Only recommendation we had would be a small vacuum or broom so we could help clean up our dogs fur ( he sheds a ton). Other than that solid spot, would use again if in the area.

I never expected to find such a nice place to stay in the small town of San Miguel, CA. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, right down to the coffee and filters and other kitchen supplies. It even had a nice yard with a picnic table, and lights that came on at night to give it a wonderful “at home” feeling (we have those lights in our yard too). While you could park on the street, there was an alley that ran around back with a dedicated parking space and gate that let you right into the yard, making it easy to load and unload your luggage. When we went out early in the morning (still dark), a light even came on to light our way in the driveway. Inside, there were all the appliances — dishwasher, stove, oven, toaster, and coffee machine. There was a good table and chairs, as well as a comfortable sofa that could be unfolded into a second bed. The bedroom had a comfortable queen-sized bed, and the bathroom even had both a shower and a bathtub. And, everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The heating/cooling system was a modern minisplit (AC-like unit on the outside of the house, with wall-mounted fan with vanes inside) with a remote. The nights were cold and rainy and it worked very well. We had one occasion to check something with our “host”, and an answer came back quickly. I even managed to leave a jacket there, and she is sending it to me (its about a 4-hour drive so going back to get it would have been difficult). To sum up, 5-stars!

A quick getaway
Stayed here with hubby and our fur baby for a little "staycation" away from the Bay Area. This place was just as described in the listing and a perfect spot for us to go back and forth to Paso Robles or any of the other little towns nearby. Bed was comfortable and we especially liked that the window coverings blocked the early morning light. Kitchen was functional although some eating utensils were a bit sparse. Coffee maker was basic but got the job done. I mentioned to Host that they should include some information on how to operate the TV. It was available for streaming but was unclear as to whether we could also see regular TV. The yard space was very nice and was able to enjoy with some lovely warm November days. We would stay here again!

Pleasant Stay.
We had a wonderful experience at the house. All the furnishings ,especially the bedroom and bath were exceptional. The one exception was the "thing" which was supposed to be the table. It was almost unusable. Why not a nice small round table with three chairs ? Travelers need a place to just sit and relax and look at maps and bouchers. Just a suggestion. Barb Houck
