Looking to Just Get Away??? Cute Cottage with Pool. Close to the Beach!

Welcome to Florida! !Everyone who has stayed at my cottage have told me “It is So close to everything!' The beach, the Halifax River, restaurants, shopping, movie theater, etc. The next thing people have said is how private, peaceful and cute. My offering has a covered front porch with two rockers and a little table for your morning coffee or tea. As you enter the front door, you will see the living room and then a small step down leads to both the kitchen and bedroom. and bathroom. Please note: It is a divided home (separate private entrance for owner and guest)
@Owner is readily available for any questions or needs you may have. The pool area has a covered patio for outside meals, and an in ground pool (with a love seat built into the deeper end). Access to private, screened pool. The bedroom has a queen bed. Bathroom with tub/shower combo.

PLEASE read house rules re pets and smoking.

*****Also I make the washer and dryer available for my guests in case they run out of clean clothes. One family arrived and began washing 6 loads. This is not intended as a substitute for a laundry mat but only to help you if running out of clean clothes at the end of your stay. Thank you for your understanding

Activities and Attractions: Daytona International Speedway (Coke Zero , Daytona 500, Turkey Rod Run); Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, Orlando (all theme parks, Fun Spot Amusement Park (2 in Orlando); St. Augustine (outlets, old city)
Kennedy Space Center, Tampa (Hard Rock Casino, Tampa Zoo, Busch Gardens, Sunken Gardens ), Jacksonville (Zoo, Jacksonville Landing), Victory Casino Cruise (can get great Groupons to save $$) local: jet ski rental, miniature golf, go karts, and of course the beach ) God's gift to us

FYI. If you book my cottage at Christmas you will find it decorated to spend your Holidays in Florida—- 3 miles to the beach. Christmas tree, ornaments and more! You may even find a gift under the tree on Christmas morning!

We have a 21 ft SeaRay and if you want to go out on the St Johns River or Halifax River (maybe even take a short ride into the ocean out of Ponce Inlet), let us know. $275/4 hrs and if you are having a great time any additional time is on Danny It makes for a great vacation memory !

This little secret cottage is wonderful. It’s has everything you need for a little getaway. The cottage and the yard are well maintained and welcoming. The screened in porch and pool area is very relaxing and has a Koi pond too. The owners fantastic, have kind souls and respect your privacy. Couldn’t have found a better gem with a great location to the beach, shopping etc. We will definitely be back to see Miriam and Gary.The Caruso’s.

Gottagetaway

A very nice, comfortable place. Close to everything if you want to get out and about. Or if you want to stay out it's great too. I highly recommend hiring out the boat excursion with Danny. We have been going to Daytona for years but to see it by boat was something else. We will be back and soon!

Peaceful Paradise

Found this nice cottage on vrbo. We stayed for 3 days and enjoyed ourselves. Check-in was really smooth and our host Miriam was very sweet and attentive. She always responds in a timely manner. The airbnb is such a cute and laid back vibe. My favorite part was definitely the pool area it was screened in, clean and decorated nicely. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be going back. If you are looking for a 2 person getaway in the middle of Port Orange this is the perfect place

Perfect retreat

The host Miriam was bery kind and helpful with everything i needed to know in the house. She called me as soon as i arrived ti the rental and made sure we had all we needed for our stay Tje house is very nice snd cosy, has a beautiful and inviting pool beautifully surrounded by plants. I recommend this place 100% and we hope to ho back some time.

“Just Gotta Get-a-Way” was amazing. The property is beautiful in addition Ms. Miriam and Mr. Danny were very welcoming and warm. The cottage is so cute, clean and comfortable. The tv options were nice to have and gave many options for free movies, series and news. The internet access is great. We love the area with lots of food and shopping very close by. We also were given some great locations for thrifting which we did enjoy very much.!! We will stay here again. Thanks Miriam and Danny

Fantastic stay

My wife and I stayed for the weekend for a quick anniversary trip. Miriam made the process smooth and accommodating. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time there! Communication was as an all time high with Miriam and we couldn’t have enjoyed our time there anymore! Highly recommend staying here as we will keep it in our favorites for a quick getaway!

Quick stay before resort reservations

Miriam was very nice, and was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Our visit was interrupted by a lizard, so that was a bit uncomfortable and worrisome. We booked the cottage to give us a couple of extra days before our resort reservations began. This was my first experience with a VRBO in Florida and near the beach.

Sorry but lizards live in Florida. They are not typically found in my cottage. Be glad your stay wasn’t in the Miami area where they have billboards advertising they will exterminate Iguana’s. I would have a total freak out!!!lol.

Cute and cozy with everything you need

A friend and I visited for two nights for a relaxing getaway. We didn't leave the property because it was so relaxing and had everything we needed. (This was by choice, nothing to do with the surroundings.) We really enjoyed the pool and outdoor chairs. The kitchen had everything we needed. The property owners were readily available and helpful. Highly recommend!

Greetings! I have lived in the Port Orange area since moving from the Garden State (New Jersey) in 1989. I have never looked back (well maybe a few times :)) Seriously, I love "my" beach, the tropical flowers, blue skies and temporate climate (most of the year). I have worked as an RN in Home Health. I have four grown daughters and seven grandchildren. I used to rent thru Home Away seven years ago when I rented Just Gotta Get Away when it was a full home. My family came to live in the area so I suspended my vacation rental. We made a "mother in law apt, ie cottage"and begin renting the cottage. As a nurse, I have cared about and for people and I try to do the same with my rental. In the past, I always had great reviews of vacationer's stays (can provide if requested--kept the guest book and probably can still find in the archives on Home Away) The cottage is perfect for a couple or a few friends who are just trying to
"get away"

Why they chose this property

Until about 2011 I had rented my home which consisted of 3 bedrooms 2 baths living room, family room, dining room, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. My family needed housing with their four children Somewhat temporary turned into 7 years, with a home conversion to include my cottage offering —initially designed as a mother in law apt but more like a cute cottage You can choose beachside but if you choose Just Gotta Get Away you will be 3 miles to the beach, cross over the Dunlawton Bridge to get to the beach and see such a beautiful view--I have never lost the WOW feeling as I get to the top of the bridge. My cottage is private, walking distance to the grocery stores, Dunkin, restaurants as well as by bike (which I supply 2). A short drive will take you to the Port Orange Pavillion for the movies, shops, other restaurants (fav Culvers, San Diego Grill) You can relax by my pool without dozens of people joining you. You can hear the sounds of the pond and enjoy the beautiful flowers. When you leave to go home, I think you will be glad you made the decision to just get away at my cottage offering.
