I wanted to give this 5 stars, but I can’t.
There are so many reasons and I will list out our experience here and you can decide for yourself.
First, the A/C situation is completely unacceptable. The average outside temperature while we were there was in the high 70s to low 80s and evening down into the high 60s. Hardly a heatwave. The master suite was MISERABLE. There is actually an A/C on the new side of the house, but it can not cool off that master suite to any meaningful level. At night, my husband and I had to have portable fans blowing on us just to be able to sleep without the sheets sticking to our bodies. I can not underscore this point enough.
Other bed rooms had portable A/C units making them usable. However, where the bunkbeds are located in the hallway… there is no A/C so it’s nothing short of an oven and the living room is an oven all day and night - no air circulating. There is a fan, but that makes so much noise - clicking like its about to fall off… again - this needs to be fixed.
And if you plan on cooking at all… which as a full family going on vacation to a lake house - that’s sorta the point - be ready for the kitchen to be unbearably hot because of any lack of real airflow and usable A/C. My husband would have to step outside while cooking to cool off. And the heat coming out of the kitchen just adds to the problem. There is one room in the entire house that really is usable - the dining room. That is the single room that the A/C seems to work b
