How many emails is too many emails?
Property is fine. Basic ski resort flop house. Lot of room for improvement in basic areas. Matresses are all low-end (too firm) and no head board on queen in the Master BR is a bit college dorm-ish. Radiating floor boards did not heat the property and ower knew (but did not communicate) that thermostat was broken before arrival. Biggest outlier (having stayed at a lot of ski-resort properties) was the number of impersonal emails sent from the property owner regarding the HOA rules and regulations over the course of the stay. Starting with an email (which, given the price and VRBO fees was a bit tacky) about paying an additional $50 for the privilege of early check-in or check-out. Then multiple emails (with an almost threatening tone) about HOA fines and additional charges if anything were left in hallway or if parking passes (claimed there were two on the fridge, but only one was present) were not returned prior to departure. Then came the emails about emptying water from the ski locker becuase the last tennant may not have done it. As it happens, there was no water to be emptied, but how this was a "my problem" and not part of the cleaning checklist for the turnover crew was a headscratcher. These are a couple examples, but there are at least four others which I can't include due to space. Traditionally, some peronal approaches such as texting or fewer impersonal "boilerplate" emails has left me with a better connection with a property and an owner.

Nice property, good communication from owner
We had a wonderful stay in Big Sky. Dana's condo is in a great location, we were able to ski in from the mountain for lunch and at the end of the day instead of having to take the shuttle. The shuttle comes quite often in the morning and gets you to the mountain quickly. Her 'Cozy' description is accurate and while small, 4 of us fit without any problem. The ski locker in the hallway is large and the bench right there makes it easy to remove your boots before going into the condo. The recliners in the living area are very comfortable and were a perfect place to watch the first rounds of March Madness! The kitchen has everything you need to cook in. There are tons of blankets to snuggle with on the couches and extras for the bedrooms. There was plenty of closet and drawer space. Only a few things that keep me from rating this 5 stars and some of them probably don't matter to people. There are very bright lights on the nearby condo units that shine right into the bedroom window and made it difficult to sleep. While some reviews say the bed is really hard we thought it was fine. The washer was not working properly and the rinse cycle was always hot no matter what setting we used. While the kitchen did have almost everything you would need some of the pans and utensils have seen better days. There was nothing to wipe down the counters, a wash cloth just doesn't really work well for that. There was not a good supply of toilet paper and we had to drive into town to get more. Be sure to use the wall switch to get power to all the power outlets. We missed that and thought there was something wrong electrically as only 1 receptacle worked on some of the outlets. This was our first time visiting Big Sky. We will definitely be back. It was gorgeous, the people were super friendly and the skiing was fantastic!

Big Sky Lodging
Fairly convenient to skiing and I would agree you could walk to the resort in the summer, but to walk to the resort in ski boots is a bit of a stretch. There is a ski resort parking lot behind the condo where you can catch the "Jerry Ferry" to the ski lifts. These are flat bed, open air trailers pulled by pickup trucks that take you from the parking lots to the lifts. They come by quite often and we never had to wait more than a minute or two. The walk from the condo the the parking lot is the hardest part of getting to the lifts. It is a short but fairly steep, icy uphill climb from the road to the condo. It's not fun in ski boots. Be sure to follow the footprints of others or you will be up to your waist in snow. The condo itself was clean and well appointed. Very good climate control made the condo always warm and cozy. It was a bit noisy at times. We were there when they did their monthly parking lot snow removal and that caused some morning noise. The master bedroom mattress was a bit firm for my tastes and the bedroom was unusually bright at night even with the blinds closed. Not sure why this was the case. The parking lot didn't seem that bright. Location is also on the second floor so keep that in mind if stairs are a problem. All things considered it was a decent place and we would stay there again.
