About this property

Secluded City Villa w/ Magnificent views Gonzaga/Perry District

Historic Mediterranean Home built in 1935 by the famous Mars Davis on a hill in beautiful historic Rockwood neighborhood. The house is 2,700 squire feet on a wooded acre with large overarching balconies overlooking the city. The house and gardens have been maintained in the style created by the famous architect Mars Davis.

A little over 2 miles to the University District, Gonzaga U, and Downtown. One mile to Perry District where we walk to get coffee, drinks and great food.

We are located in an unbelievably beautiful and private part of Spokane on the South Hill in the Rockwood area.

Our Kitchen extends into the den which makes it easy to chat with family while making dinner or sharing a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchen also looks into our back patio and garden

When the weather is accommodating, we start our day w/a cup of coffee on the back patio w/a view of our garden.

We have been known to spend a lot of time in the den as a family or my kids w/there friends because it is casual and comfortable w/a gas fireplace.

The library/office or what used to be called the butler's pantry is where we can work. We also use the smaller bedroom upstairs, kitchen counter, table, den couch and living room to get stuff done.

Our formal dining room has a table to seat 8 comfortably where there are views to the back garden and city.

Our large sunken floor living room has a wood fire place and views of the city. One of my favorite places to read and work is in the corner of the living room where there are large windows to bring in the sunshine and capture the sunset.
My view is amazing, especially at night.

Upstairs we have three bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, full bath, desk w/monitor to work. The master bedroom has a large window with a view of the sunset and the city. We also have a full bathroom off from the hall and another, smaller bedroom w/single bed. In summary…3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms upstairs.

We have a circular driveway with plenty of room to park. Our garage is not available for guests to use.

Great place!
This is a lovely home with a responsive supportive host. We watched the morning light with coffee in the front room, used the gas fireplace in the evening in the den and had plenty of room for reading, sleeping and conversing. The views from an elevated site were expansive. The drive to town and the riverfront was easy. Lots of restaurants within 10-15 minutes. Would recommend and hope to visit again some day.

Grandma, Daughters, Granddaughter Weekend
We had a great stay - all worked all well. Another granddaughter that works on the weekend was able to eat dinner and play games Friday night. All turned out very fun - plus 4 of us walked Bloomsday Sunday morning.

We lived in this house on the south hill for 31 years and raised our 3 children here in the excellent Hutton and Lewis and Clark school district. Now that we are partially retired we spend more time in our place up north.

Why they chose this property

Our house is located on the South Hill in the Rockwood area down the street from the Perry district. We live in a beautiful area with beautiful homes and large trees surrounding our community. You will find your stay amazing and so much different than staying in a standard home.

What makes this property unique

We have continued to maintain and update our home in the style that was designed by the famous architect Mars Davis in 1935.
