About this property
Secluded 2bdrm home on low bank river.
The Riverhouse is a secluded 2 bedroom house located on and surrounded by private property. It sits nestled in the trees just steps away from the river, with low bank river access. It's truly been described as Paradise.
It is a 2 bdrm 1 bath home, with room in the living/dining area for a blow-up mattress (we no longer supply)
We do supply 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, a twin cot, and full sized fold out mattress.
There is also room on the property for a a pop-up tent, however, there's no turn around for RV's/campers and the road to the river house is rustic.
There are distant neighbors not visible from the Riverhouse. You'll feel like you're in the middle of no where, enjoying nature.
Guest have reported seeing Elk, Deer, Bear, Eagles, Swan, River Otters and more.
Heron was an old train town, so you will sometimes hear trains in the distance.
Town is in walking distance. There's a country grocery store that serves coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, soups & sandwiches, ice cream & other grocery needs. A post office, a school library & gym, and a dispensary (if that's your thing)
The Riverhouse is surrounded by trails to hike, site's to see, water to play on/in.
We are approx. 45 miles east of Schweitzer Ski Resort and the resort town Sandpoint, ID.
50 miles south of Libby, 50 miles west of Thompson Falls. We are dog friendly and will wave the pet fees if you've purchased the insurance. Please let is know if you have a pet, as there are pets nearby.

Hosted by Tracy

Hi,
We're Dan & Tracy.
Dan is from Montana and I'm his city-slicker (turned Montanan) wife.
Dan is a contractor and musician, and I'm a hairstylist and fmr. professional dancer.
We're both studying and practicing soil health and regenerative gardening in hopes of offering future guest fresh you-pick veggies from our small garden.
After our industries took a hit during Covid, we decided to move out to our property full-time and start giving it the love and attention it needed, and deserved.
We have been privately hosting our friends and family for over a decade and decided to take it to the next level by creating Sleepingman Retreat, a place in nature for many, not too far from a town, but far enough to unwind and relax.
We hope you enjoy it as much as our past guests have.

Why they chose this property
It's beautiful, secluded, private and on the water.
What makes this property unique
Guest are on 5 acres with 600 feet of waterfront that are secluded and totally private (aside from some boat traffic from neighbors) there are no structures across the water (it’s ranch land & forestry). The house is on our private property of 20 acres with neighboring private properties on each side of us. You might see us on the road when entering/leaving the property but you are completely secluded down below so even though you're in a small town/residential area you'll feel like you're in the middle of no-where.
You can take short forested walks on the property, access the water for swimming, kayaking, or if you're want to bring your boat you can use one of the 2 local boat launches.
