Your holiday accommodation in Rheinbreitbach is an ideal starting point for wonderful walks on the Rhine or in the Siebengebirge (near the Rhine) and your excursions in the charming landscapes of the Rhine, Ahr, Moselle and Eifel. In addition, cultural attractions in Bonn and Cologne attract.
Beautifully arranged Rhine promenades in Unkel, Linz, Leubsdorf, Neuwied, Bad Honnef (Grafenwerth, Rhöndorf), Königswinter, Oberdollendorf, Bonn (Oberkassel, Bad Godesberg), Andernach, Koblenz and pretty downtown areas, picturesque old towns invite you to stroll.
Be sure to plan a boat tour.
In Rheinbreitbach in the summer two beer gardens lure directly on the Rhine; all year round the museum of local history and events in the upper castle, in the multi-purpose hall and on the Renesse place.
The following excursion destinations in the Rhine rail are a small selection from the rich cultural offer of the region.
The order is determined by the geographical location:
1.) right bank of the Rhine to the south (→ Koblenz)
historic (red) Weinstadt Unkel, Willy-Brandt-Forum
Erpel, Erpeler Ley and in summer theater performances in the Erpeler-Ley-Tunnel, the former railway tunnel to the Ludendorff Bridge / Remagen Bridge
Linz, old town and the castle Linz with their exhibition, torture chamber and Roman glass blowing. In Linz starts a historic rail bus on the steep section to Kalenborn through the Kasbachtal.
Bad Hönningen / Rheinbrohl, adventure museum / exhibition "Roman world" at the beginning of the Upper Germanic Limes
Up the Rhine are several wine places, z. B. Hammerstein with the (multiple award winning) winery Scheidgen
Vis-à-vis Koblenz, the sprawling Ehrenbreitstein Fortress towers.
2.) right bank to the north (→ Bonn)
Bad Honnef, the Kursaal and the Feuerschlösschen host a variety of events. Grafenwerth Island = attractive recreational area with playground, boules court, outdoor pool, beer garden, boat landing stage and a tennis club. In the district of Rhöndorf, lived Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor. An exhibition commemorates him, his house can be visited with guided tours. In the center of the village, the Café Profittlich and the restaurant "Am Ziepchen" not only lure you to stay for their historical facilities. The winery Broel offers the historic ambience, at Pieper's more modern.
Königswinter, cog railway to Drachenburg Castle and up to the Drachenfels with newly designed plateau and gastronomy, "SEA LIFE" Aquarium, Siebengebirgsmuseum, Forsthaus Lohrberg on the Margarethenhöhe: exhibition about the Siebengebirge Nature Park, Petersberg, Ölberg
Bonn-Oberkassel, Arboretum Park Härle, on the banks of the Rhine the traditional restaurant "Bundeshäuschen" and the new buildings "Am Bonner Bogen", u. a. the Kameha Grand Hotel
