About this property
Pool and amazing views near Spoleto nestled in the Umbrian countryside.
Beautiful restored country house minutes from Spoleto. Perched on the edge of Terzo San Severo, this hillside getaway is a private, walled, and gated property on the east face of the Martani Mountains, surrounded by olive groves and amazing views of the surrounding countryside. You can spend your time touring the hill towns of Umbria, hiking in the mountains, roaming the countryside, or just relaxing by the pool with a good book and a spritz!
The villa, grounds, and pool are available for guests. There is a small, consecrated chapel on the property that is available for guest worship by request.
While the villa, it’s chapel and its gardens are secure, walled, and gated, its utilities and its land must be regularly attended to in order to maintain a perfect environment for the guests residing here.
To this end, a retired couple live in an independent apartment on the back side of the villa, completely separate from the guest apartments that occupy the front 2/3rds of the villa. They have a separate entrance and do not share or access the guests' apartments.
One of them will greet you when you arrive and show you around the property to get you settled in.
You may also see them around as they tend to the gardens, the grounds and the pool.
They are friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding areas.
The husband, Alberto, a native of the area, spent many years in the wine industry before his retirement. Consequently, he is very knowledgeable about Italian wines. Not only that, he is an aficionado of Italian art and history. So, do not hesitate to ask him if you require info about wineries + wine tastings, olive oil refineries + tastings and/or places to visit of specific historic interest, art galleries and/or museums.
Karen, his wife, tends a wonderful garden and orchard, the bounty of which she would be happy to share when in season.
They are also available for help or assistance should the need arise.
Alberto speaks English as well as Italian and Karen speaks English.

About the host
Hosted by Rico Tagliaferri
Buongiorno and benvenuti! My name is Rico and I am an Italian American and Italian citizen who has been coming to Umbria and the Spoleto countryside to visit family since I was a little boy. I live in Oakland, California. I have always had the dream of owning a country property in the Spoleto countryside and that dream has finally come true with this magnificent property. I look forward to providing you with the vacation of a lifetime and a taste of la dolce vita!
Why they chose this property
This is a traditional Umbrian manor house restored with no expense spared for the traditional Umbrian country manor house details. The grounds, pool, and view are spectacular, to which the pictures do not do justice. The property boasts the privacy of a walled and gated villa while still being centered in the rural Spoleto countryside surrounded by olive orchards, the sounds of the countryside, and the adjacent hillside village of Terzo San Severo.
What makes this property unique
The privacy, pool, and view are unbeatable. The view of the valley and the hills must be seen to be believed.
