Overall, the experience and the stay at The River Lodge was wonderful. The cabin and the property were absolutely beautiful. Our group enjoyed it thoroughly!
However, the technology experience was less than desirable during our stay. The property's WiFi was not functioning. Cell phone data was spotty for our group, so we were expecting to have access to reliable WiFi, but did not.
Suggestion for property managers: When checking the property between renters, check the WiFi to ensure that it's functional so that any needed maintenance could be done prior to renters' arrival.... as well as the Xfinity cable connections in each room (only a few of the TVs on the property had a cable connection).
The stay was very good. We enjoyed the house. Plenty of room especially the guest house. The kids had a lot of fun there.
Positives:
Big house
Guest house
Plenty of bathrooms
open kitchen
Hot tub
screened room for barbecue, games, etc.
Outdoor firepit
A lot of plates, steak knives, tea spoons, etc. were available.
The office staff was very helpful. The parking passes were very helpful.
Suggested improvements:
The bed sheets/comforters were a bit dusty in the guest house, most likely, because no one had used it prior to us for a while and was collecting some dusts. But it did not stop us from enjoying the rooms. a bit of dusting took care of the dust. We will also suggest to have a few big pots and pans, a kettle, some table spoons (there were none). It will also be good to have a few more paper towels.
The chairs were bit old and can use some new cushions
One major improvement that we would suggest is have locks for the bathrooms. This was a big drawback as we had to lock the bed room door to get around the problem.
