"Great Valley Digs" Short Walk to River Run, Town & Fishing

Location! Location! Location!
(River Run, Walk To Town, Bike Trail, Fishing, Hiking)

This beautifully appointed remodeled condo offers 3 bedrooms 2 baths within walking distance of River Run and downtown Ketchum. Guests will enjoyh a gas fireplace with views of “Baldy” as well as the closeness of fantastic restaurants, shopping, and art galleries. The unit is located on the second floor and offers beautiful sweeping views of Baldy Mountain. You and your guests will also enjoy the large deck, which includes a large family picnic table and a gas barbecue for outdoor dining experiences during the summer.

The main floor master bedroom has a king size bed with it’s own ensuite bathroom. The guest bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a guest bathroom, with bathtub and shower located off the guest bedroom on the main floor. The second floor is anopen air “Loft” which has a full size bed. In addition, there's a third enclosed bedroom in the upstairs loft area with two twin beds for children or additional guests if needed. This also can be used for the kids gaming area with XBOX 360 and a 32'' LED TV. Please note all the linens during the winter months are flannel sheets with crisp cotton sheets during the summer months for your comfort.

The kitchen is a full sized, u-shaped space with a spacious island for preparation as well as a serving area for large parties. You’ll find the kitchen fully equipped with all the cooking utensils that a chef or baker of the house would need. The living room has cozy furnishings within to enjoy the views of Baldy or simply enjoy the wood-burning fireplace with your favorite book or beverage in hand. You can also enjoy the 42'' Flat screen TV with a 'Bose' sound system with CD, DVD, and Blue Ray for watching movies. The extended HD cable package and Wi-Fi are included.

Perfect location

Our second time staying at this property. Perfect location, walkable to River Run base and downtown restaurants/shops. Clean and well equipped. Will certainly try to stay here again in the future if it’s available.

Great place for a ski trip

Had a wonderful time. The set up and location was perfect for a few retired skiers. One took the bus to Dollar Mountain while the others could walk over to River Run. Being able to walk into town for dinner is a plus.Appreciated the new appliances and fireplace. Liked having a hot pool and sauna close by.Hope to return in the future!

Wonderful Ketchum location!

We loved the close location of the property to restaurants, shopping and of course River Run. The condominium was beautifully decorated and such an cosy space to return to after a day’s skiing. It had everything we needed.

Great location

Perfect for a family ski trip with 4 adults given the separate sleeping spaces. Walkable to the lifts in street shoes and Main Street for dinner. Large outdoor hot tub that didn’t ever feel too crowded even for a complex that size. The owner was very accommodating when we had to make a date change far enough out.

Great ski getaway in Ketchum. Walking distance to downtown restaurants/bars/shops. Walking distance/short drive to River Run base. Well equipped and clean condo. Plenty of parking. Large community hot tub. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.

A well-equipped and affordable getaway for large families.

Our family visits Sun Valley every year and finding an affordable place that can accommodate our growing brood gets more and more difficult. We are so glad we found Doug and Catherine’s condo. There is plenty of space for 8 people to sleep and eat, and the location is pleasant and peaceful, within walking distance to downtown Ketchum. We hope to return again!

Have stayed in many condos but this place is first class. Towels fluffy, beds and bedding very comfortable, extra towels for hot tub. Reported a broken corkscrew and withing 2 hours a new one was on the doorstep. First class service. Highly recommended.

Family trip

Loved it! Had Family in town visiting our sister that lives in the area. We love Ketchum and sunvalley! This place was the perfect location so easy to walk to the beautiful trails and to the local shops. We walked to river run and did some hikes. This place was perfect for everyone! Kids loved the pool and the hosts were so helpful with any questions we had. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend staying here!

Relaxing Place to Stay

This Vrbo was very impressive and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked so you only had to buy groceries you needed. I would not say it is not a true 4 bedroom. There are two bedrooms on the lower level, and then in the loft/upper level, there is an open space with a bed and a room only separated from the open loft by a door that is completely see-through. Okay if privacy is not an issue for your group. Although this was not an issue for our group, it is worth noting that this listing is not accessible. You have to climb a flight of outdoor stairs to access the property.

Decent: But the property fell short in many areas & is in need of some TLC

I’m a regular Ketchum / Sun Valley goer and have stayed at many properties. I had high expectations for this VRBO, based on all the 5 star reviews - but it fell short in a few areas I’ll detail below. Context: There were 3 couples staying in the property. Positives: Decent location. We walked to & from the mountain & it was doable but not ideal. It took 10-minutes, in gear. If you are not familiar with Ketchum - all the action takes place in on the few roads off Main Street. We walked to all of our dinners, shopping, etc. we did in town & because of how far towards Bald Mountain the VRBO was located - it took about 8 minutes time to get to the corner of limelight and main (as an example). It was fine for us - but not necessarily conveniently located. The kitchen was a good size for our needs. The dining room/table and the living room area are good sized spaces for 6 people. Negatives: Security - upon arrival the key was in the lockbox with the passcode already typed in/visible. This seemed a little suspect & lazy. Security is important (especially if the place is unfamiliar and this didn’t start things off well) There were no instructions on how to operate or navigate basic functions of the property. To give a examples: How to work the heaters, the fireplace, how to properly secure the front door from within the house (surprisingly difficult). No guidance on how to get to the pool/hot tub and the way to gain access. Only 3 pool towels provided - but they knew there’d be 6 people. Cleanliness: The property could have been cleaner. The rugs and furniture are very worn and they felt and looked dirty. The bathtub was not clean and there was hair and black/dirt marks on the bottom. The bathtub didn’t drain well - it was disgusting. The carpets and rugs did not appear to be vacuumed well. The beds are uncomfortable - plain & simple. The beds have indents on where people sleep, that’s how old and worn they are. The pillows are awful in all of the rooms. They are cheap and nobody liked them. The bedding was uncomfortable too. The owner should invest in new beds, pillows, bedding. A window leaks water from the outside & it gets onto the ledge and into the carpet - this shouldn’t be happening. Overall the property seemed run down and like the owners are riding on the 5 start reviews instead of making the necessary improvements. The space is also not accommodating to groups larger than 6. I would NOT stay here again.
