This was our fifth time staying at this beautiful location in this wonderful house. The owners provide everything we could possibly need, the view is unbeatable, and everything in the home is comfortable. The owners have always been very responsive to our questions. We keep returning because we're always sure we'll find the peace and tranquility we love. We plan on continuing to come here in the future.

Charming older home beautifully updated and remodeled. Fantastic lake view from porch off upstairs bedroom. Thoughtfully stocked with most anything you might need. Would definitely there again.

We (3 sisters) have been traveling for the past 35 years and have stayed in many places. This Lakeside Retreat is by far the best place we have stayed. Outstanding in being clean, decorated, and fully stocked with whatever you might have forgotten to bring. George our host certainly has payed attention to what travelers require to have a great time. We absolutely did and will return for a second adventure for sure.

This home's location was fantastic with a breathtaking view of the lake. Home was wonderfully decorated and well equipped with so many amenities. We will be returning visitors because our family lives in S. Amhurst.

This house was beautiful. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The Lakefront beach was just a short drive. We are at Lorains brewing company at The Shipyard. The food was fantastic. The town is really easy to get around. Thank you for allowing us to share your home!

This property was above and beyond our expectations. It is beautiful in every way. The layout of the house is outstanding, so much so that we would like to in contact with the contractor to get some work done on our own house. The view is amazing, the pictures do not do it justice. I would highly recommend this property and would stay there again in the future! 5 stars

I cannot say enough great things about this property. It was so immaculately clean and organized, and there was nothing you needed. Right down to having the basics stocked in the refrigerator, water, ice, even butter and coffee. We absolutely loved our stay and wish we could’ve stayed much longer. One of the best properties I have ever stayed at.

This place was amazing. I wanted a lakeside retreat and this delivered and then some. From the record player which revitalized my love for some classic artists, to the binoculars to watch the birds/boats from the five different levels to watch the water, it was utter relaxation. Many amenities were provided; cookware, fridge basics, toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/bathwash/dental stuff), games, and comfortable seating/beds! I will definitely book again am already looking forward to it! I can’t say enough about the stay as it was perfect.

Everything was as described. House was wonderfully arranged and decorated. There's 4 full bathrooms in this house! Beach access was close by. Chelsea Beach was a 5-minute walk down the street. The natural gas fire pit was an extra comfort for evenings lounging in the backyard.

This was our fourth year here. We've already booked for next year. This is probably the cleanest property we have ever stayed in! The location is perfect and beautiful. The host, George is the best. Excellent communications - you need something, he's got you covered! This is our home away from home. It's nice to be able to keep going back to a place and know 100% that you will have a great experience. We look forward to coming back for many years to come.

This was our fourth stay at this wonderful house. As always, it was spotlessly clean, furnished with everything you could possibly need, has very comfortable beds, great showers, excellent climate control--and to top it off, a spectacular view of the lake. This continues to be our favorite VRBO. The hosts couldn't be any friendlier or more accommodating. This is the perfect place for peace and quiet.

We had another lovely stay at the Lakeside Retreat. The home is always immaculately clean and well maintained inside and out. The home has everything you need and then more. The views of the lake are amazing and ever changing, depending on the day. It's the reason we keep coming back. Why Lorain? It's a quiet area close to everything and is well situated about halfway between Cleveland and Sandusky. Locally, Port Lorain Marina is within walking distance or a short drive for a nice walk on the mile long pier with extended views of the lake, the Lorain Harbor Lighthouse and fishing. If interested in area wineries, the Paper Moon is nearby in Vermillion, and the Quarry Hill Winery is in nearby Berlin Heights with amazing views of the vineyards and apple orchards. The Quarry Hill Orchards (barn) is right down the street - where you can pick your own apples and you can enjoy homemade ice cream from the orchard grown fruit. Klingshirn Winery is in the nearby Avon Lake area. Ardick Seafood is right down the street for daily fresh perch and other fish. Kierdrowski's bakery is in nearby Amherst for fresh baked goods including breads and the famous Snoogle. Autumn is a nice time to visit to see the fall colors and also when there are less crowds. My wife and I stayed at this home over Labor Day weekend from 9/4-9/7 2026 for our anniversary celebration trip. The home is an easy 35 minute drive from the Cleveland attractions that we wanted to explore. The home is tastefully decorated in a nautical theme very appropriate for a lake view house. Everything throughout the home has been updated and was clean and fresh. The host thought of everything, from a fully stocked first aid/ medicine cabinet, extra phone charging cords in the nightstands, to coffee, creamer, and sugar in the kitchen! Very nice touches. House rules were clearly explained and reasonable. The views from both the first floor patio and the walkout bedroom balcony were beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed having our morning coffee while watching the lake from the balcony. Our only regret, was having many activities planned throughout the weekend that took time away from enjoying more of those views! LolI'd certainly recommend staying here!Kudos to George for a offering a beautiful home and very enjoyable stay!

We had the best experience staying here, both times we have visited. The property is not only immaculately clean, but very well appointed-like staying in a fine hotel room, but cozy and with a lot more amenities! The bathrooms had more clean towels and shampoos and soaps than we needed. They even have a washer/dryer, which we didn’t use, but nice to have available. Little touches are everywhere in this home that make it a real pleasure to visit, and the view can’t be beat. There was even coffee, condiments and snacks. I would definitely stay here again and again. Great place.
