Hosts were friendly and helpful. The property itself was older and not typical VRBO quality.
We arrived in a storm and the host came out and met us in the rain. He was very friendly and gave lots of helpful information about places to eat and things to do etc. The property was a basement that had been updated yet still smelled older and our things seemed damp during our stay. It also was listed as sleeping 6 but only slept three on beds. We decided to use sleeping bags and three of our kids slept on the floor. The access to the laundry and kitchen was helpful. Our kids enjoyed playing on the drums in a space that would have been great for a couch/living area. We thought it was a property closer to what we’ve used through couch-surfing instead of the typical VRBO rentals.

I'm sorry the basement wasn't what you had hoped for! The house was built in 1941, but after your review, we acquired an air purifier to run down there and help with the smell. I've never noticed my things being damp down there, but it does get humid if you run the dryer without opening windows, since the dryer isn't vented outside yet. You ran a lot more laundry than we usually do, so it must have been super humid down there, but It will be vented outside within a month anways!
You are correct that it is listed as sleeping 6, but the section that shows what beds there are only has a futon and a twin listed, and I messaged you making sure you knew 3 would have to use sleeping bags in advance, but you still came. I've added it to the description to make it clearer.
I'm glad your kids enjoyed the drumset!
