About this property

Located at the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain, you are surrounded by pine trees, gorgeous blue skies and a view overlooking Colorado Springs that can't be beat. The interior decor is tailored to bring the feel of the "mountain life" alive... but with luxury in mind. Over stuffed couches, fluffy pillows and rustic decor abound. Natural wood furniture add to the vibe and a thick, fluffy pillow-top in the bedroom brings rustic and comfort together for the perfect combination.

The kitchenette is versatile with lots of cooking options: microwave, convection/toaster oven, Ninja pressure cooker, crock pot, toaster and waffle maker are all available for your cooking pleasure. Dining options include large, rustic dining table for 6, as well as a BBQ and out door seating on your own private deck.

Stone pathways lead to the viewing area (overlooking the city), the picnic table and hammock (for lunch in the great outdoors) or the natural canopy park bench (deep breath as the sun goes down). Step directly outside your door to enjoy a large, private deck, complete with outdoor seating and twinkle lights; the perfect place to relax with a morning cup of coffee as the deer stroll by. When the surrounding scrub-oak are in full growth, they proved a natural, private courtyard as well as secret garden passageways along the stone paths.

SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU BOOK:

*once you arrive, take your time on the stairs (2 sets) as it may take a while to acclimate to the higher Colorado Springs altitude.

*keep your eye on the weather app; we recommend all wheel drive when it snows

*Black Bear Chateau is located on the "locked off" lower level of a 5500 sq ft home with the upper 2 levels of the home being occupied by your host family. BLACK BEAR CHATEAU HAS ITS OWN PRIVATE ENTRANCE AND YOU ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM THE HOST FAMILY

Wonderful stay! Gorgeous view!

Me and my Fiancé enjoyed our stay. Mary was an amazing host. She was quick to answer any questions we had. We felt very welcome. At first we were apprehensive about renting a shared property as we wanted our privacy. That wasn’t an issue. We were never bothered and never heard hardly any sounds from above.The space was very comfortable for several people. Comfortably fit a family of 4 to 6. Location was ideal for Colorado Springs area. Very easy commute to and from the Colorado Springs airport. As well as easy to get to pikes peak and garden of the gods. Absolutely gorgeous view from the home. Right at the foot of the mountain. Definitely recommend to any who want an affordable alternative to a resort or hotel. Highly recommend. Definitely would come back to this property.

Quiet and beautiful views

Great place and beautiful view especially just looking out the windows and seeing deer and rabbits. The creek was dry(frozen) but great little walk through paths. It’s great that it’s located around many stores and plenty to do in the area.

Perfect Hideaway

This was the perfect property and location for my husband and I during our stay in Colorado Springs. It was the perfect size for the two of us and provided us all the necessities and privacy that we needed while we were there. The best part was the daily visits from the multiple deer that roamed the area. Mary Louise was very accommodating and responsive during the entire process. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Cozy and Nature Filled

Great experience and great hosts. We saw lots of deer, wild turkeys, bunnies and birds. Nice, cozy neighborhood with a great view of the city and mountains. The hosts were gracious and generous. We loved our stay in their comfortable chateau!

Best place to stay hands down.

The best place ever to stay! The host was wonderful! The place was super clean. This is the best place for a family with kids. Lots of space. With games to play. Lots of wild life interaction. lots of deer right outside the the door. I would so recommend this to anyone!

Why they chose this property

It is such a lovely spot- so private and tucked away. The property itself is located on a cul-de-sac with only 3 other homes at the top of the Broadmoor Hills area- GORGEOUS!!! As you take the slatestone pathway to the Chateau, the lush green scrub oak begin to create a natural courtyard. By the time you reach the entry, you are surrounded by greenery and lest you make a sound, no one would know you are there.

What makes this property unique

This location is teeming with wildlife... bucks, doe, fawn (depending on the time of year), wild turkey, bobcats, bunnies, squirrel, racoon and a plethora of wild birds. Chances are high that you will glimpse SOMETHING wild during your stay! :)
