We are back and so excited to have you back as well.
Walk to Lake Tahoe from this warm and inviting family cabin located in one of South Lake Tahoe’s best neighborhoods. Spacious, beautifully maintained, and fully stocked, it’s the perfect retreat for families looking for comfort, privacy, and year-round Tahoe adventures.

Upstairs you’ll find a very large private master suite (20x22) featuring a king bed, twin daybed, jetted soaking tub, and separate shower. It’s a peaceful retreat separated from the rest of the home.

Downstairs are two additional bedrooms — one queen bedroom and one bedroom with two twin beds — along with a full bath, living room, dining area, and kitchen, making the layout perfect for families or small groups.

The warm knotty pine living room and kitchen create the classic Tahoe cabin atmosphere guests love. On chilly winter nights, relax by the cozy wood stove after a day skiing, hiking, or enjoying the lake.

The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, gas cooktop, double ovens, dishwasher, and everything you need to cook family meals. You’ll find plenty of dishes, wine glasses, cookware, and extras like a coffee maker, waffle maker, blender, and toaster.

All bedding and linens are provided, and the bathrooms are stocked with blow dryers, shampoo, and essentials, so you can pack light and settle in comfortably.

Step outside to the large backyard deck, perfect for BBQs, relaxing, or enjoying the fresh Tahoe air.

The cabin includes Wi-Fi and a great TV channel lineup for relaxing evenings.

One of the best features is the location. You can walk to Lake Tahoe and the nearby recreation center, which offers amazing year-round amenities including an ice rink, swimming pool, gym, basketball, and tennis courts.

The neighborhood is quiet and scenic, perfect for walking and biking, with a beautiful one-mile loop starting right from the back deck.

We were very pleased with the bijou cabin it was right next door to the skating rink which was why we were in Tahoe in the first place. Cozy yet plenty of room we really liked the layout and the back deck and all the amenities. Would definitely stay there again next year for the same event. Thanks again!

Perfect and cozy for two small families

We had two families of 4, with kids ranging from 5-9. This home accommodated us perfectly! The owners take pride in the house and keep it well appointed–far beyond most VRBO-listed homes. This is our second time here and we'll we're already booked for next summer!

Convenient location

We enjoyed our stay at the Rae's Family Retreat Cabin. it is an especially good location for families with young children. It is close to a little playground, library ( you can check our books if you live in California), Safeway and bike park. We enjoyed walking to the lake in the evening to see the sunset but it is not a good spot for swimming. Good value for price paid.

Rae's Place Visit

Girls weekend was fabulous. Loved the cabin. Within walking distance of just about everything. Light dusting of snow on mountain tops and cooler weather made us so enjoy the woodstove and the cozy sofa. Heating system worked well too and cabin stayed warm even w/ 20's at night. Walked to the lake every morning, beautiful! Can't wait until I can schedule a warm weather stay.

Another great vacation at Rae's Cabin!

I have shared this house with another family for several summers in a row. The house is such a blessing to our families! It is very well-appointed with so much more than the "necessities"! It's like it's our own cabin because we don't have to pack in all of our stuff like hand soaps, shampoo, etc. Thanks for providing such a great escape for us at Lake Tahoe. We've already booked next year!

Family Vacation 2019

Our vacation was such a pleasure, and much was due to this wonderful house. My husband even exclaimed as we entered, “It feels like we’re at Grandma’s house!” The house was equipped with everything to make our stay easy and enjoyable. We loved seeing the bear as we ate breakfast on the patio, taking the bikes for a ride around the neighborhood, barbecuing on the grill when it was too hot to cook indoors, and using the cooler provided for our North Shore adventure. We are already looking forward to our next stay !

It was perfect!

We were celebrating my daughter's high school graduation and we went as a large group of teenagers and 3 parents. The place is great! The house configuration makes for a good separation between the upstairs area and the downstairs bedrooms. They do such a nice job of providing everything you might need, from cooking essentials to bathroom items. Walking distance to the lake and very close to stores and restaurants. We all loved and had a great time!

What a find! This great cabin was perfect for our family. We really appreciated the central location, the bikes, the well stocked kitchen, the toiletries provided, and all of the extras the owners thought of. The beds were very comfortable as were the outdoor lounge chairs, and we enjoyed eating our meals together outside. Vikki was easy to correspond with and quick to respond. We've been renting vacation homes for 10+ years and this one was by far the best. Many thanks, we'll be back!

Fantastic Location! Lots of Extras!

This house was so comfortable for our family and has a great back deck for BBQ'ing. The owners make sure you feel so very welcome and provide not only essentials but make sure you are covered if you forgot anything else (in the surprise guest closet). It was so touching and above any other VRBO I have been to. The location is extremely convenient to many fun beaches, eating, and shopping. The bike trail and community park were a great addition! Excellent service and we had an amazing vacation! (5 beaches, Truckee River Float, Gondolla ride up to Heavenly with tons of summer activites up there, and great eats!

Close to everything!

Loved this home and it's location! Enjoyed hearing the murmur of families camping across the street...enjoyed walking about two minutes to the library one direction and two minutes to the playground/ice arena/pool/community center the other direction. Loved taking my five year old paddle boarding at El Dorado Beach...$25/hour (they also had kayaks and those boats with the bike pedals to rent)...and concrete bleachers for people to watch everything. The house is definitely well-stocked, just bring some food/snacks (if you're eating out). Short drive to go out to eat...lots of places to choose from!

Awesome cabin and great location! Only 0.2 mile from lake/beach. Superclean and comfy. The pictures may show the cabin a bit dated but it has all modern amenities and fully-stocked flatware, cookware and pantry. Fast communication and easy to deal with. It was a pleasure. Even my elderly parents who are picky and hard-to-please at times were impressed. Thank you for sharing your cabin and for all you thoughtfulness in making our stay feel home. The welcome toiletry bag and all abundant availability of hand/body lotion were super nice touch.

This cabin was purchased in 2009 by 3 sisters. The cabin is for family gatherings throughout the year. Our family has many snowboarders and skiers as well as everyone's love of the beaches in Lake Tahoe. We look forward to creating many happy memories at this home. I know your family will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Location, Location, Location - We wanted something that was close to the lake but allowed us to be close to restaurants and shopping. The Bijou neighborhood gives us all that and more. This is a wonderful neighborhood to take long walks or hop on the bike trail across the street. Having the Bus/Shuttle service right down the street you can get almost anywhere in town. Use of the community center is a major bonus for adults and kids - a year round facility

What makes this property unique

Back to our Location: The Beach (down the street) , skiing (Heavenly is 1.5 miles) , biking (the trail is across the street) , Casino & downtown 2.0 miles, pools & Ice Skating (across the street), Tennis everything is right in the neighborhood. El Dorado Beach at the end of our street is beautiful and hosts the summer concert series and provides all the lake toy rentals you need. Community center is right down the street. Stateline casino's are 2.0 miles. Shopping is just around the corner - you cannot beat this location or our great pricing. WI-FI installed. Uber available in South Lake Tahoe as well so very easy to get around.
