Nice location with some concerns
Sunny Isles is a great place to stay, but this unit lacked in some ways.
Cons: We had an issue for 3 days with the smoke/fire alarms going off in the middle of the day and night. We didn’t sleep until our 3rd night, which was quite disappointing. Understandably by code, there are 4 of these units throughout the condo and they are hardwired through the electrical wiring. Our contact and property manager was responsive and sent a worker several times until finally changing all the detectors. Issues can happen, but the worker shared with me that the smoke detectors had an expiration date of June 2005. I’m no expert, but I do know that most countries have a building code law enforcing these to be changed every 10 years. This negligence could of been fatal if ever a real emergency were to arise. A similar issue occurred in Montreal where several people died from a fire within a rental property. In fact, if an emergency were to occur, the unit would not have been insured due to the age of all fire alarms. This on its own is unacceptable and the realtor is no longer responding when asked to provide a compensation for the lack of sleep, the maintenance and repair of all smoke/fire alarms. Although “things happen”, this impacted our family trip and would never of occurred if the owner followed building requirements.
2nd, this unit needs a fresh cost of paint and a deep clean. From pictures it looks ago, but once you look closely, it needs a major cleaning.
